Kanach Zham
Saint John the Baptist Church (), commonly known as Kanach Zham ( hy, Կանաչ Ժամ) is an Armenian Apostolic Church, Armenian Apostolic church in Shusha (known to Armenians as ''Shushi'') in Azerbaijan, in the Political status of Nagorno-Karabakh, disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh, located just uphill from the Ghazanchetsots Cathedral. Kanach Zham means "Green Chapel" in Armenian language, Armenian, which refers to the previously green domes of the church. The church is sometimes also called ''Gharabakhtsots'', the name of the old wooden church that was previously located in the same place as Kanach Zham, and which was named as such in honor of the farmers of Nagorno-Karabakh who built it. 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh War
The Second Nagorno-Karabakh War was an armed conflict in 2020 that took place in the disputed region of Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding territories. It was a major escalation of an unresolved conflict over the region, involving Azerbaijan, Armenia and the self-declared Armenian breakaway state of Artsakh. The war lasted for more than a month and resulted in Azerbaijani victory, with Armenia ceding the territories it had occupied in 1994 surrounding Nagorno-Karabakh. The defeat ignited anti-government protests in Armenia. Post-war skirmishes continued in the region, including substantial clashes in 2022. Creative arts Literature Literature began in Armenia around 401 A.D. The majority of the literary arts were created by Moses of Khorene, in the 5th century.
