Kampnagel is a theatre in Hamburg, Germany. It is Germany's biggest independent production venue for the performing arts. It is based on the premises of a former mechanical engineering factory in Winterhude, founded in 1865. History Since 1982 Kampnagel has been hosting and producing cultural activities, theatre and dance performances and concerts. The site also hosts a number of festivals such as the "Internationales Sommerfestival" (International Summer Festival). In 2022, Federal Commissioner for Culture and the Media Claudia Roth and Hamburg's State Minister for Cultural Affairs Carsten Brosda announced that Jean-Philippe Vassal and Anne Lacaton Anne Lacaton (born 2 August 1955) is a French architect and educator. Jean-Philippe Vassal (; born 22 February 1954) is a French architect and academic. He runs the architectural practice Lacaton & Vassal, with Anne Lacaton. The pair were jointly awarded the 2021 Pritzker Architecture Prize. Early life and education Vassal was born 1954 in Casablanca during the French Protectorate of Morocco. He graduated from the École nationale supérieure d'architecture et de paysage de Bordeaux in 1980. After graduating, he spent five years in Niger as an architect and town planner. Anne Lacaton (born 2 August 1955) is a French architect and educator. She runs the architectural practice Lacaton & Vassal, with Jean-Philippe Vassal. Carsten Brosda (born 3 October 1974) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party (SPD) who has been serving as State Minister (''Senator'') and head of the Hamburg Authority for Culture and Media in the Senates Scholz II and Tschentscher since February 2017.
