Kammarensemblen
Kammarensemblen (KeN), is a Swedish chamber music ensemble. The group was created in Stockholm in 1984 and has today a big repertoar for small as well as big orchestras. The group is performing in Sweden as well as international festivals all over the world. Chamber Music
Chamber music is a form of classical music that is composed for a small group of instruments—traditionally a group that could fit in a palace chamber or a large room. Most broadly, it includes any art music that is performed by a small number of performers, with one performer to a part (in contrast to orchestral music, in which each string part is played by a number of performers). However, by convention, it usually does not include solo instrument performances. Because of its intimate nature, chamber music has been described as "the music of friends". For more than 100 years, chamber music was played primarily by amateur musicians in their homes, and even today, when chamber music performance has migrated from the home to the concert hall, many musicians, amateur and professional, still play chamber music for their own pleasure. Cullberg Ballet
Cullberg Ballet ( sv, Cullbergbaletten) is a Swedish contemporary dance company. It was founded by the modern dancer and pioneer choreographer Birgit Cullberg in 1967, who brought it to fame. After Cullberg's retirement in 1985 the company was until 1993 run by her son, the popular Swedish dancer, choreographer and stage director Mats Ek. From 2003 ''Cullbergbaletten'' was managed by choreographer Johan Inger and from 2009 to 2013 Anna Grip held the position as artistic director. From 2014 to 2022, Gabriel Smeets was the artistic director of the ballet. Cullberg Ballet is part of Riksteatern Riksteatern is the name of the popular ''"National Touring Theatre"/"National Theatre Company"'' (~Eng. transl.) in Sweden. Anders Eliasson (tonsättare)
Anders Erik Birger Eliasson (3 April 1947 – 20 May 2013) was a Swedish composer. Life Eliasson was born in Borlänge. His "earliest musical experiences originated from within myself: they were my own singing, and familiar tunes I heard on the radio. No classical music." Marching his toy soldiers up and down, he used to imagine sounds, learning only later to describe them as an orchestra. Aged 9, he began the trumpet, started up a small jazz orchestra (two clarinets, trombone, rhythm section, guitar, trumpet), and aged 10 he was writing arrangements. A jazz bass-player, "an unbelievable musician", taught him chords. Aged 14, he went to an organist, Uno Sandén, to learn harmony and counterpoint. Aged 16 he went for private study in Stockholm to "the wonderful Valdemar Söderholm", who "confronted me once more with real music" – music such as he had first heard aged about 12. Henrik Strindberg
Henrik Strindberg (born 28 March 1954) is a Swedish composer of contemporary music. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm from 1980 to 1987 where he studied for Gunnar Bucht and Sven-David Sandström amongst others. In 1985 he also participated in a summer course with Iannis Xenakis in Delphi. Apart from composing, he has been a member of the progressive rock band Ragnarök since the 1970s. His music has been performed by acclaimed ensembles such as Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Kroumata, Sonanza and The Gothenburg Combo. Bengt Hambraeus
Bengt Hambraeus (Stockholm, Sweden, January 29, 1928 – Glen Roy, Ontario, (in Glengarry County), near Montreal, Quebec, Canada, September 21, 2000) was a Swedish-Canadian organist, composer and musicologist. Biography Hambreaus studied organ with Alf Linder and musicology with Carl-Allan Moberg, earning his doctorate in 1956 on a thesis about medieval musical notation. From 1957 to 1972 he worked at the music department of the Swedish Radio, eventually holding executive and producer posts, and during this time became a very high-profile emissary of new music in Sweden, encouraging discussion of new musical forms, a renewal of organ music with new tonal/technical concepts and the integration of performance art, improvisation, live electronics and stereo/spatial effects into traditional concert performing.
