Kamini Singha (born 1977) is a Professor in the department of Geology and Geological Engineering at the Colorado School of Mines, where she works on questions related to hydrogeology. Early life and education Singha was born in New York. Her father was a student at Cornell University, and her mother was a travel agent. The family moved to West Virginia soon after Singha's birth, and she spent most of her early childhood there. When she was 12, the family relocated to Connecticut for her father's work. She became interested in geoscience in her senior year of high school, when a physics teacher and a family friend encouraged her to pursue a degree in geophysics. Singha attended the University of Connecticut and graduated with honors in 1999 with a bachelor's degree in geophysics. She went on to earn her PhD in hydrogeology from Stanford University in 2005. Kamini Pather (born 20 April 1983) is a South African chef, food blogger, and television and radio personality. Kamini Nirmala Mendis is a Sri Lankan professor emeritus at the University of Colombo and former malaria expert at the World Health Organization (WHO). Education Mendis went to Visakha Vidyalaya school in Colombo. She went to the University of Ceylon to study medicine in 1972, and then moved to the University of London in the UK for her PhD in 1980. For her M.D. in Microbiology, to complete her medical training, Mendis returned to her alma mater in 1989, now split into the University of Colombo. Manik Kamini Kadam (1933 – 2000), popularly known as Kamini Kadam, is an Indian actress who acted in several Marathi, Kannada and Hindi films in the 1950s and 1960s. Biography She made her debut in Marathi films under the screen name of Smita in 1955 in '' Yere Maazya Magalya''. She acted in a number of Marathi films before switching over to Hindi films. In 1958, Kadam changed her screen name to Kamini Kadam and made her debut in Hindi films with ''Talaq'' (1958) opposite Rajendra Kumar.
