Kamikazen - Ultima Notte A Milano
''Kamikazen: Last Night in Milan'' ( it, Kamikazen - Ultima notte a Milano) is a 1987 Italian comedy film written and directed by Gabriele Salvatores and starring Silvio Orlando, Paolo Rossi, Antonio Catania and Claudio Bisio. Plot Six amateur and desperate comedians are called by their agent, just as amateur and desperate as them, for an event. To get the money back from a gambling loss, the agent invents a story that convinces the comedians to pay for acting. The idea is irresistible: among the public of the lousy nightclub where the show will take place, there will be a person in charge of Drive In, the most famous cabaret television show of the moment, looking for new talents to bring to the TV show business. Gabriele Salvatores
Gabriele Salvatores (born 30 July 1950) is an Italian Academy Award-winning film director and screenwriter. Biography Born in Naples, Salvatores debuted as a theatre director in 1972, founding in Milan the Teatro dell'Elfo, for which he directed several avant-garde pieces until 1989. In that year, he directed his third feature film, ''Marrakech Express'', which was followed in 1990 by '' Turné''. Both films shared a group of actor-friends, including Diego Abatantuono and Fabrizio Bentivoglio, who will be present in many of his later movies. ''Turné'' was screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. In 1991, Salvatores received international praise for '' Mediterraneo'', which won an Academy Award as best foreign film. Diego Abatantuono (born 20 May 1955) is an Italian cinema and theatre actor, and screenwriter, three-time winner of the Nastro d'Argento. Biography and career Abatantuono was born in Milan to a father of Apulian origin and a mother from Como. The latter worked as wardrober in a Milanese jazz and later cabaret club, ''Derby'', whose owner was Abatantuono's uncle. He started to work at ''Derby'' first in lighting, then as artistic director and later as an actor. I Gufi ("The Owls", also spelled just as Gufi) was an Italian musical and comedy ensemble, mainly successful in the second half of the 1960s. Career The group formed in Milan between 1963 and 1964, and debuted on stage with the show "I Gufi cantano due secoli di Resistenza" (i.e. "The Owls sing Two Centuries of Resistance").
