Kamiah High School
Kamiah High School () is a four-year public secondary school in Kamiah, Idaho, the only high school in Kamiah School District #304. Located in the Clearwater Valley of rural Lewis County in the north central part of the state, the school colors are maroon and white and the mascot At the south end of the city, the high school was built in 1914, and the current building on 9th Street opened Athletics Kamiah competes in athletics in IHSAA Class 1A in the White Pine League. It was formerly a member of the Central Idaho League with Grangeville and Orofino in Class 2A. KHS moved down to 1A in the summer of 2012 and won the 1A (Division I) state title in football that fall. Kamiah, Idaho
Kamiah ( ) is a city in Lewis and Idaho counties in the U.S. state of Idaho. The largest city in Lewis County, it extends only a small distance into Idaho County, south of Lawyer Creek. The population was 1,295 at the 2010 census, up from 1,160 in 2000. The city lies in the narrow valley of the Clearwater River; downstream are Orofino and Lewiston, at the confluence with the Snake River. History The Kamiah area has been inhabited by the Nez Perce for centuries. The name "Kamiah" is Nez Perce for "many rope litters," as Nez Perce manufactured "Kamia" ropes in the area to fish steelhead. Geoff Schroeder
Geoff Schroeder was a state senator in the U.S. state of Idaho. He has held office from 2022 to 2024, and became more active in the Republican party in 2010. He represented Idaho's 8th district, representing Boise, Custer, Elmore, and Valley counties. His political career began when he ran for the first of four terms and served as precinct committeeman for the Elmore County Republican Party. He was elected vice-chair of the county party in 2014 and served as Legislative District 23 Chair from 2014-2016. Schroeder lost his 2024 Republican primary election to former Rep. Christy Zito. Kenneth Charles Hobart (born January 27, 1961) is a former professional football player, a quarterback in the USFL and CFL, where he played from 1985–1990. Collegiate career Hobart played college football at the University of Idaho from 1980 –1983, starting at quarterback for the Vandals for four seasons. The first two were in the veer option offense under Jerry Davitch, and the final two in a passing attack under new head coach Dennis Erickson. In Erickson's first season in 1982, Hobart led the Vandals to an record in the regular season and advanced to the quarterfinals of the twelve-team Division I-AA playoffs, falling on the road to eventual champion Eastern Kentucky, and was named offensive player of the year in the Big Sky Conference. Orofino High School
Orofino Junior/Senior High School, is a six-year secondary school in the northwest United States, located in Orofino, Idaho, part of a combined high school and junior high school operated by the Orofino Joint School District #171. The school colors are royal blue, black, and white and the mascot is the maniac. West of the city center, the present campus was built in the late 1960s, and the junior high was added recently, following the closure of the century-old junior high building in 2010. Lewis County, Idaho
Lewis County is a county located in the north central region of the U.S. state of Idaho. As of the 2020 census, the population was 3,533, making it the fourth-least populous county in Idaho. The county seat is Nezperce, and Kamiah is the largest city. Partitioned from Nez Perce County and established in 1911, it was named after the explorer Meriwether Lewis. Most of the county is within the Nez Perce Indian Reservation, though Native Americans comprise less than 6% of the county population.
