Keikyū Kamata Station
, is a railway station in Ōta, Tokyo, Japan, operated by the private railway company Keikyu. Lines Keikyu Kamata Station is served by the Keikyu Main Line and Keikyu Airport Line. This station is a reversing station for direct train services between Yokohama Station and Haneda Airport. Station layout As of 21 October 2012, the station structure has three levels. Up trains (to and Haneda Airport) depart from the second level, down trains (to and ) and Haneda Airport depart from the third level. Platforms The 3rd floor consists of one large platform serving three tracks in a unique configuration. Kamata, Tokyo
is a district of Ōta, Tokyo, Japan. Features include the Kamata Station, Kamata High School, and the headquarters of Toyoko Inn. History The name "Kamata" has been used to refer to the area since at least the 900s AD. Historically, the area was famous for Japanese apricots(''ume''). Kamata was first linked to Tokyo by rail in 1901 with the opening of Kamata Station (now Keikyu Kamata Station) on the Keikyu Main Line. This was followed in 1904 by the opening of a separate Kamata Station on the Tokaido Line. Kamata became a ward of Tokyo City in October 1932, incorporating the historical towns of Kamata, Yaguchi, Rokugo and Haneda. Kamata merged with the neighboring ward of Omori to form the ward (city) of Ota in March 1947. Education Ota operates the public elementary and junior high schools in Kamata. Kamata Kingdom
The Kamata Kingdom (pron: ˈkʌmətɑ) emerged in western Kamarupa probably when Sandhya, a ruler of Kamarupanagara, moved his capital west to Kamatapur sometime after 1257 CE. Since it originated in the old seat of the Kamarupa kingdom, and since it covered most of the western parts of it, the kingdom is also sometimes called as Kamarupa-Kamata. It covered a region corresponding to present-day undivided districts of Kamrup, Goalpara, Jalpaiguri, and Cooch Behar district in India and Rangpur and northern parts of Mymensingh in Bangladesh. The rise of the Kamata kingdom marked the end of the ancient period in the history of Assam and the beginning of the medieval period. The last rulers were the Khens, who were later displaced in 1498 by Alauddin Hussain Shah, the ruler of the Bengal Sultanate. McRonald Kamaka (March 9, 1937 – July 23, 2007) was an American-Canadian professional wrestler known by the ring name Tor Kamata. He won several heavyweight and tag team championships, most notably the PWF World Heavyweight Championship in All Japan Pro Wrestling and the AWA World Tag Team Championship in the American Wrestling Association. He was a classic heel, reviled for dirty tricks in the ring, included rubbing salt in his opponent's eyes. Mitsuo Kamata
is a former Japanese football player and manager. He played for the Japan national team. Club career Kamata was born in Ibaraki Prefecture on December 16, 1937. After graduating from Chuo University, he joined Furukawa Electric in 1960. He won the 1960, 1961, and 1964 Emperor's Cup. In 1965, Furukawa Electric joined the new Japan Soccer League. He retired in 1974. He played 106 games and scored 6 goals in the league. He was selected for the Best Eleven in 1967, 1968, and 1969. National team career On December 25, 1958, when Kamata was a Chuo University student, he debuted for the Japan national team against Hong Kong. He played at the 1964 Summer Olympics in Tokyo and the 1968 Summer Olympics in Mexico City. He played in all matches at both tournaments and Japan won the bronze medal in 1968. Pedro Kamata (born 6 September 1981) is a Congolese former professional footballer who played as a winger. Born in Angola, he made one appearance for the DR Congo national team. Club career Kamata was born in Luanda, Angola. He started his career at Auxerre. He then joined FC Groningen in the summer of 2002, only to return to Ligue 2 in order to join Clermont Foot in January 2003.
