Kalocsa District
Kalocsa ( hu, Kalocsai járás; german: Kreis Kollotschau) is a district in western part of Bács-Kiskun County. ''Kalocsa'' is also the name of the town where the district seat is found. The district is located in the Southern Great Plain Statistical Region. Geography Kalocsa District borders with Kunszentmiklós District to the north, Kiskőrös District to the east, Jánoshalma District to the southeast, Baja District to the south, Tolna District and Paks District ''(Tolna County)'' to the west. The number of the inhabited places in Kalocsa District is 21. Municipalities The district has 3 towns, 2 large villages and 16 villages. Districts Of Hungary
Districts of Hungary are the second-level divisions of Hungary after counties. They replaced the 175 subregions of Hungary in 2013. Altogether, there are 174 districts in the 19 counties, and there are 23 districts in Budapest. Districts of the 19 counties are numbered by Arabic numerals and named after the district seat, while districts of Budapest are numbered by Roman numerals and named after the historical towns and neighbourhoods. In Hungarian, the districts of the capital and the rest of the country hold different titles. Homokmégy
Homokmégy ( hr, Mieđa) is a village and municipality in Bács-Kiskun county, in the Southern Great Plain region of southern Hungary. Village history Őrjeg raised from a one-time branch of river Danube (Sár, Turján, Red marsh) as a boundary of eastern land created a closed area, which probably is the same as 'Big Island' written by Anonymous and stayed by princely dynasty. Water-shaped characteristic of this area was considerably changed by protections against floods lasting since the beginning of the last century. Nowadays only geographical names of the village boundary remind us of the old water world. Mostly we can see tillages besides the peatery, meadows and pastures everywhere. Hajós
Hajós ( hr, Ajoš; german: Hajosch) is a town in Bács-Kiskun County, Hungary. History Hajós's name comes from the Hungarian word "hajó" which means boat or ship. It is possible that in the Middle Ages Hajós was surrounded by a large area of water. The medieval Hajós lost much of its population during the Ottoman conquest.
