Kali Meehan
Kalivati Gerald Meehan (born 9 March 1970) is an Australian professional boxer of Fijian people, Fijian descent. He turned pro after a career in rugby league. His son Willis Meehan plays rugby league and boxes. Amateur career Before becoming professional, Meehan fought as an amateur with a record of 23–5. Professional career Nicknamed "Meanhands", Meehan's memorable appearances include a contested loss in the WBO heavyweight title bout to Lamon Brewster, KO loss to Hasim Rahman, and a first-round TKO loss to Danny Williams (boxer), Danny Williams in another title bout for British Commonwealth crown. He had been the Australian heavyweight champion with multiple successful defences until 2000 when he vacated the title. Fijian People
Fijians ( fj, iTaukei, lit=Owners (of the land)) are a nation and ethnic group native to Fiji, who speak Fijian and share a common history and culture. Fijians, or ''iTaukei'', are the major indigenous people of the Fiji Islands, and live in an area informally called Melanesia. Indigenous Fijians are believed to have arrived in Fiji from western Melanesia approximately 3,500 years ago, though the exact origins of the Fijian people are unknown. Max-Schmeling-Halle is a multi-purpose arena, in Berlin, Germany, named after the famous German boxer Max Schmeling. Apart from Mercedes-Benz Arena and the Velodrom, it's one of Berlin's biggest indoor sports arenas and holds from 8,861 people, up to 12,000 people. OWL Arena is a multi-purpose indoor sports arena, located in Halle, North Rhine-Westphalia, in Germany. The capacity of the arena is 12,300 people and it opened in 1993. It hosts the Halle Open every year in June. It is one of the few grass court tennis tournaments around. The stadium has a retractable roof which can be closed in 88 seconds, which rules out the risk of tennis matches having to be suspended because of rain. Derwent Entertainment Centre, also known as the DEC and known commercially as MyState Bank Arena, is the largest indoor arena in Tasmania and the multi-purpose arena is the primary venue in Hobart for large indoor functions/events.
