Kalapati
"Kalapati" () is the 20th episode of the 18th season of the Filipino drama anthology series ''Maalaala Mo Kaya'' (''MMK''), and is the first of two parts of "The Ninoy & Cory Aquino Story". Written by Joan Habana and directed by filmmaker Jeffrey Jeturian, it first aired on ABS-CBN in the Philippines on January 23, 2010. ABS-CBN teamed with Swatch and collaborated with Jaime Zobel de Ayala and the Ninoy & Cory Aquino Foundation to bring the project to fruition. Plot Ninoy Aquino and Cory Cojuangco met each other at a party in 1950. After marrying each other in 1954, Cory expected to live a simple life with her husband and family, only for Ninoy to enter politics, as mayor and later as senator. By 1972, upon the declaration of martial law in the Philippines by President Ferdinand Marcos, Ninoy was arrested under the Marcos regime, and their family lives were thus upended. ''Maalaala Mo Kaya'' (; formerly written as ''Maala-ala Mo Kaya...''; abbreviated as ''MMK''), also known as ''Memories'', is a Philippines, Philippine television drama anthology show broadcast by Kapamilya Channel under ABS-CBN Entertainment. Hosted by Charo Santos-Concio, it premiered on May 15, 1991. It has become the List of longest-running Philippine television series, longest-running drama anthology in the Philippines, reaching its 30th year in 2021. José "Pepe" Chichioco Cojuangco Sr. (July 3, 1896 – August 21, 1976) was a Filipino politician who served as Representative of the 1st District of Tarlac in the Philippines from 1934 to 1946. Benigno "Ninoy" Simeon Aquino Jr., (; November 27, 1932 – August 21, 1983) was a Filipino politician who served as a senator of the Philippines (1967–1972) and governor of the province of Tarlac. Jaime Ramon Misa Paredes, better known simply as Jim Paredes (), is a Filipino singer, composer, television host, writer and actor. He is known as one of the members of popular musical trio APO Hiking Society (along with Danny Javier and Boboy Garovillo). He is the son of Ester Paredes Jimenez, a staunch martial law activist.
