Mu. Kalanjiyam is an Indian film director who has made Tamil films. A winner of the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Story Writer, Kalanjiyam has also featured in the lead role in his films. Career Kalanjiyam's first film, ''Poomani'' (1996), featuring Murali and Devayani, won commercial and critical acclaim, and the director won the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Story Writer for 1996. His next venture, the rural drama ''Kizhakkum Merkkum'', starring Napoleon with Devayani, also won positive reviews. Karungali (film)
''Karungali'' is a 2011 Tamil-language film written and directed by Kalanjiyam and produced by Vivekanandan. The film stars the director himself alongside Srinivas, Anjali, and Sunitha Verma in the lead roles, while Asmitha and Alex play supporting roles. Nilave Mugam Kaattu
''Nilave Mugam Kaattu'' () is a 1999 Indian Tamil-language film directed by Kalanjiyam and starring Karthik, Ramki and Devayani. The film, produced by S. Rajaram, has a musical score by Ilaiyaraaja and was released on 30 April 1999 to negative reviews. The film is a remake of the Kannada film '' Anuraga Sangama'' (1995) which itself was inspired by Charlie Chaplin's '' City Lights''. ''Kizhakkum Merkkum'' () is a 1998 Tamil-language drama film directed by Kalanjiyam. The film stars Napoleon, Nassar, Devayani and Geetha, with Manivannan, Thalaivasal Vijay, Vichithra, Theni Kunjarammal, Kalyanjiyam, and Chaplin Balu playing supporting roles. ''Mitta Miraasu'' is a 2001 Tamil-language film directed by Kalanjiyam. The film stars Prabhu and Roja, while Napoleon, Alex, and Vadivelu play supporting roles. The music was composed by Aslam Mustafa, and the film released on 18 October 2001. Plot Chellaiya has two missions in life. The first is to remove the taint on the family name and expose the man behind his family's misfortunes. The second is to make his younger sibling a lawyer so that it will help him in achieving the first mission.
