Kalakalappu
''Kalakalappu'' () () is a 2012 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by Sundar C. and produced by his wife Khushbu. It stars Vimal, Shiva, Anjali, Oviya and Santhanam, with music composed by Vijay Ebenezer. It was originally titled ''Masala Cafe'', but was later renamed to ''Kalakalappu''. The film released on 11 May 2012 to mixed to positive reviews, and became a commercial success. The film is 25th directorial venture for Sundar C. The film was remade in Telugu as ''Jump Jilani'' starring Allari Naresh. In 2018, the film later went into the spiritual successor ''Kalakalappu 2''. The movie is loosely based on the 2009 German Comedy film '' Soul Kitchen''. Plot Seenu runs the Kumbakonam-based Masala Café, inherited from his forefathers. Masala Café was a famous food outlet a few decades back, but has lost its prominence later, and now Seenu finds it difficult to manage. The café's chef and his granddaughter Maya stay with Seenu. ''Kalakalappu 2'' is a 2018 Indian Tamil-language comedy film written and directed by Sundar C and produced by Khushbu. It is a spiritual sequel to the 2012 film ''Kalakalappu''. The film features Jiiva, Jai, Shiva, Nikki Galrani and Catherine Tresa in the lead roles. Though talks were going on since 2012, the film began production in October 2017 and progressed in locations including Varanasi, Karaikudi, Pune and Hyderabad. The film was released on 9 February 2018. Plot The movie starts with Raghu trying to kill his own father for not taking good care of his family. That is when he discovers that he owns an ancestral property in Kasi which was given as lease almost a century ago. At the same time, an IT raid takes place in a minister's house. Shiva (actor)
Shiva (born 10 December 1982) is an Indian actor, comedian, RJ and dialogue writer who has featured in Tamil language films, and had previously been a Radio jockey with Radio Mirchi. Acting mainly in comedy films, he rose to fame following his performances in the Venkat Prabhu directorials ''Chennai 600028'' and '' Saroja'', before also featuring in ''Thamizh Padam''. His tenure with Radio Mirchi earned him the nickname "Mirchi Shiva". Film career 2001-2008 Shiva's first film role was a supporting role in the 2001 film '' 12B'', where he played Shaam's friend. Sundar C
Vinayagar Sundar Vel (born 21 January 1966), known professionally as Sundar C., is an Indian film director, actor and producer. He has directed over 34 films in Tamil and acted in 17 movies as the protagonist. His notable films include ''Ullathai Allitha'' (1996), '' Arunachalam'' (1997), ''Unnai Thedi'' (1999), ''Anbe Sivam'' (2003), ''Winner'' (2003), '' Giri'' (2004), ''Kalakalappu'' (2012), ''Theeya Velai Seiyyanum Kumaru'' (2013), ''Aranmanai'' (2014), ''Aambala'' (2015) and ''Kalakalappu 2'' (2018). Oviya
Helen Nelson, (born 29 April 1991) better known professionally by her stage name Oviya, is an Indian model and actress who works in the Tamil and Malayalam films. Avni Cinemax also known as Avni Movies and also Avni Telemedia is an Indian film production and distribution company owned by Kushboo and her husband Sundar C. The company was named by the starting letter of their daughter's name Avanthika. The company was established in 2004. Vijay Ebenezer
Vijay Ebenezer is an Indian music composer, who mainly produces film scores and soundtracks in the Tamil film industry. He rose to fame with ''Kandaen'', whose audio rights were bought by Gautham Vasudev Menon's Photon Kathaas. Career In 2005, he tried composing a song for the first time and subsequently went on to make a gospel album called ''Nesipaya''. From then, every year, he has produced gospel albums.
