Sunil Gangopadhyay
Sunil Gangopadhyay or Sunil Ganguly (7 September 1934 – 23 October 2012) was an Indian poet, historian and novelist in the Bengali language based in the city of Kolkata. He is a former Sheriff of Calcutta. Gangopadhyay obtained his master's degree in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. In 1953 he and a few of his friends started a Bengali poetry magazine, '' Krittibas''. Later he wrote for many different publications. Ganguly created the Bengali fictional character '' Kakababu'' whose real name is Raja Roy Chowdhury and his passion is to solve mysteries. He wrote 36 novels in Kakababu series which became significant in Indian children's literature. He received ''Sahitya Akademi'' award in 1985 for his novel '' Those Days'' (''Sei Samay''). ''Yeti Obhijaan'' (English:''Yeti Adventures'') is an Indian Bengali adventure thriller film directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Shrikant Mohta, Mahendra Soni under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. Mishawr Rawhoshyo
''Mishawr Rawhoshyo'' is a 2013 Indian adventure thriller film directed by Srijit Mukherji, based on the fictional character Kakababu created by Sunil Gangopadhyay. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Indraneil Sengupta, Swastika Mukherjee, Aryann Bhowmik, and many others. The plot revolves around a hieroglyphic trail that leads the protagonist to Egypt and underneath a pyramid. The film became one of the biggest hits of 2013 and gained a strong cult following from the audience and critics. The second film of this Kakababu series '' Yeti Obhijaan'' was released in 2017. The third film, ''Kakababur Protyaborton'', was released in 2022. ''Ek Tukro Chand'' ( A Piece of Moon) is a 2001 Indian Bengali action adventure film directed by Pinaki Chaudhuri, based on the Kakababu story, ''Santu O Ek Tukro Chand'' by Sunil Gangopadhyay. Kakababu Here Gelen?
''Kakababu Here Gelen?'' ( lost kakababu) is a Bengali detective film of Kakababu series, released in 1995 under the banner of National Film Development Corporation. It is based on a detective novel of Sunil Gangopadhyay in the same name. The movie is a prequel to the 2001 Bengali movie ''Ek Tukro Chand'' directed by Pinaki Chaudhuri. Soumitra Chatterjee played the role of anti hero in this movie. Plot Being unable to maintain his maternal uncle's ancestral house, Biman and his wife Dipa sell their house to a person who decides to demolish it and build something new there. So, Biman and Dipa want Kakababu (Raja Roy Chowdhury) and his nephew Santu to visit the place on 5 March as Biman would have to hand over the building to the buyer by 8 March. ''Sabuj Dwiper Raja'' is a 1979 Indian adventure thriller film directed by Tapan Sinha, based on the same name novel of Kakababu by Sunil Gangopadhyay. Synopsis A criminal gang led by notorious smuggler Panja is set to steal a secret source of energy that emanates from a meteorite that has landed on a remote area of Andaman Islands.
