Kakababu
Kakababu (alias Raja Roy Chowdhury) is a fictional character created by Bengali author Sunil Gangopadhyay. The series, falling under the adventure genre of literature, targeted at children and teenagers, started in the autumn of 1979 with the publication of ''Bhoyonkor Sundor'' in Anandamela magazine, Puja issue. Since then, the series continued for 33 years on popular demand, with over 36 adventure novels in print until the death of the author in 2012. Main characters *Kakababu: Kakababu is the disabled former Director of the Archaeological Survey of India, whose real name is Raja Roychowdhury. He is from a migrated Bengali family. His family origin was from East Bengal. In one of the earlier stories, it is said that Kakababu lost one leg in a jeep accident in Afghanistan, several years ago, and walks with the help of a crutch. Mishor Rohoshyo
''Mishawr Rawhoshyo'' is a 2013 Indian adventure thriller film directed by Srijit Mukherji, based on the fictional character Kakababu created by Sunil Gangopadhyay. It stars Prosenjit Chatterjee, Indraneil Sengupta, Swastika Mukherjee, Aryann Bhowmik, and many others. The plot revolves around a hieroglyphic trail that leads the protagonist to Egypt and underneath a pyramid. ''Kakababur Protyaborton'' () is an Indian Bengali-language adventure drama film directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Shrikant Mohta and Mahendra Soni. It is based on a Bengali adventure novel of Sunil Gangopadhyay, ''Jongoler Modhye Ek Hotel''. This film is released under the banner of Shree Venkatesh Films. Sunil Gangopadhyay
Sunil Gangopadhyay or Sunil Ganguly (7 September 1934 – 23 October 2012) was an Indian poet, historian and novelist in the Bengali language based in the city of Kolkata. He is a former Sheriff of Calcutta. Gangopadhyay obtained his master's degree in Bengali from the University of Calcutta. In 1953 he and a few of his friends started a Bengali poetry magazine, '' Krittibas''. Later he wrote for many different publications. Ganguly created the Bengali fictional character '' Kakababu'' whose real name is Raja Roy Chowdhury and his passion is to solve mysteries. ''Kakababu Here Gelen?'' ( lost kakababu) is a Bengali detective film of Kakababu series, released in 1995 under the banner of National Film Development Corporation. It is based on a detective novel of Sunil Gangopadhyay in the same name. The movie is a prequel to the 2001 Bengali movie ''Ek Tukro Chand'' directed by Pinaki Chaudhuri. Samit Bhanja
Samit Bhanja ( bn, শমিত ভঞ্জ; 2 January 1944 – 24 July 2003) was an Indian actor and director known for his work in the Bengali cinema. He joined Rupkar, the theatre group of Sabitabrata Dutta and enacted in several plays in early 1960s. He made his screen debut with Balai Sen's 1965 Bengali film ''Surer Agun''. He is remembered as the male lead, Navin, of the successful Hindi film '' Guddi'', opposite Jaya Bhaduri. In addition to acting in film, he acted in theatre and jatras, and was associated with the Rupkar group theatre. He died in Kolkata at the age of 59.
