Kajsa Ekis Ekman
Kajsa "Ekis" Ekman is a Swedish author and journalist. She has written four books, translated into several languages, about capitalism, economic crises, and women's rights. She lectures internationally on prostitution and surrogacy. She is a regular contributor to the Swedish newspaper ''Aftonbladet'' and is a columnist in the Norwegian newspaper ''Klassekampen.'' She has also contributed to Kathemerini. Books Her book ''Being and Being Bought'', compares the sex industry and the surrogacy industry, and how they both commodify women's bodies. It argues that both industries are at the intersection between capitalism and patriarchy. It criticizes the notion of sex work as being an unholy alliance between the neoliberal right and the postmodern left, used to legitimize the sex industry. The Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Rights ( sv, Riksförbundet för homosexuellas, bisexuellas, transpersoners och queeras rättigheter, RFSL, formerly ) is a Sweden, Swedish organization working for LGBT rights by country or territory, LGBT rights. Lawyer and social worker Trifa Shakely was elected as the new president in 2021. It was founded in 1950, which makes it one of the oldest LGBT rights organizations in the world. Dror Elimelech Feiler ( he, דרור אלימלך פיילר; born 31 August 1951) is an Israeli-born Swedish musician, artist and left-wing activist. He is married to the artist Gunilla Sköld-Feiler. Early life and career Feiler was born in Tel Aviv in 1951 to Eliezer and Pnina Feiler, and moved with his family to kibbutz Yad Hana in 1967. His father, Eliezer Feiler, was a left-wing activist. In 1978, he and others secretly met with a group of Palestine Liberation Organization representatives in Bucharest while it was still illegal. Eliezer Feiler was tried and eventually sentenced to six months of community service and a Israeli pound, IL4,000 fine. The fine was paid, but the sentence was never served because, while the legal process was ongoing, the law had changed and it was no longer illegal to meet with members of the PLO. Freedom Flotilla III
Freedom Flotilla III (#FF3) was a flotilla that planned to break the blockade of the Gaza Strip by Israel by sailing to Gaza. It started from Sweden on 10 May 2015 and stopped in several European cities along the way to Gaza. It started officially from Athens, Greece on 25 June 2015. Few details were released in advance. On 29 June 2015 the Swedish-flagged vessel "Marianne" was intercepted by the Israeli navy in international waters about 100 nautical miles from the Palestinian coast of Gaza. The Israeli military reported that no force was needed during the operation. However, eye-witness video published by Israeli Channel 2 TV shows people being tasered by IDF commandos. The ''Marianne'' was boarded by Israeli forces and taken to the port of Ashdod, while the rest of the ships turned back.
