Kaiser Kalambo
Kaiser Kalambo (6 July 1953 – 18 March 2014) was a Zambian coach and former footballer. He represented Zambia in three African Cup of Nations tournaments and was named Zambian captain in 1980, the same year in which he was voted Zambian footballer of the year. He later coached several club sides in Zambia and Botswana. Early life Kalambo was born in Luanshya to January and Namwiba Kalambo. His father was a miner and he had seven siblings, three of which were girls. He attended Luanshya Central School and Luanshya Boys Secondary School and joined Luanshya side Roan United in 1970 as a defensive midfielder. Luanshya
Luanshya is a town in Zambia, in the Copperbelt Province near Ndola. It has a population of 117,579 (2008 census). Luanshya was founded in the early part of the 20th century after two prospector/explorer, William Collier shot and killed a Roan Antelope on the banks of the Luanshya River, discovering a copper deposit in the process. The antelope fell to the ground, its head resting on a rock where an exposed seam of copper ore was visible. The mining company eventually formed to exploit Collier's find was named " Roan Antelope Copper Mines Ltd". For most of the 20th century, copper was mined in great quantities at Luanshya but towards the end of the century, mining there became increasingly uneconomic, causing a severe recession in the town. There is still a fair amount of copper underground. Whether the town sees a revival in its fortunes will depend on how efficiently the copper is extracted and sold. Nkana is a section of the city of Kitwe, Copperbelt Province, Zambia which started off in the early part of the 20th century as a railway station to support the growing complex of copper mining operations. It was named after Chief Nkana, the local traditional ruler. CECAFA Cup
The CECAFA Cup, is the oldest football tournament in Africa. It is organized by the Council for East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA). A FIFA competition, it includes participants of football playing national teams from the East African Region. Cup history There is an anomaly on national teams in the case of Tanzania. It fields two teams, Tanzania and Zanzibar. Uganda National Football Team
The Uganda national football team (nicknamed ''The Cranes''), represents Uganda in men's international football and is controlled by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations, which is a part of CAF. The 1974 African Cup of Nations was the ninth edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, the soccer championship of Africa ( CAF). It was hosted by Egypt. Just like in 1972, the field of eight teams was split into two groups of four. Ackim Musenge
Ackim Musenge (born 7 October 1949) is a Zambian former footballer and coach. Renowned for his exceptional defensive ability and versatility, Musenge is rated as one of the finest defenders to have played for the Zambia national team, which he captained at the 1978 African Cup of Nations in Ghana. He later coached Mufulira Wanderers and several other club sides. Early life Musenge was born on 7 October 1949 in Mufulira.
