Kaidu (Middle Mongol: , Mongolian language, Modern Mongol: / , ; ; c. 1230 – 1301) was a grandson of the Mongol khagan Ögedei Khan, Ögedei (1185–1241) and thus leader of the House of Ögedei and the ''de facto'' Khan (title), khan of the Chagatai Khanate, a division of the Mongol Empire. He ruled parts of modern-day Xinjiang and Central Asia during the 13th century, and Kaidu–Kublai war, actively opposed his uncle, Kublai Khan, Kublai, who established the Yuan dynasty. Medieval chroniclers often mistranslated Kadan as Kaidu, mistakenly placing Kaidu at the Battle of Legnica. The Travels Of Marco Polo
''Book of the Marvels of the World'' ( Italian: , lit. 'The Million', deriving from Polo's nickname "Emilione"), in English commonly called ''The Travels of Marco Polo'', is a 13th-century travelogue written down by Rustichello da Pisa from stories told by Italian explorer Marco Polo. It describes Polo's travels through Asia between 1271 and 1295, and his experiences at the court of Kublai Khan. The book was written by romance writer Rustichello da Pisa, who worked from accounts which he had heard from Marco Polo when they were imprisoned together in Genoa.
