Kai Toews
Kai Toews (テーブス海, born September 17, 1998) is a Japanese professional basketball player who currently plays for the Shiga Lakes of the B. League. His cousin Jonathan Toews played for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League from 2007 to 2023. Early life Toews grew up playing soccer before starting to play basketball in fourth grade. His father, former professional player BT Toews, taught him the fundamentals of the game. Growing up, Toews cited Allen Iverson as his favorite basketball player. Toews attended Keihoku High School for his freshman and sophomore years and was recruited by Japanese universities but had higher ambitions. Toews moved to the United States and attended the Northfield Mount Hermon School in Massachusetts for two years. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. The Murray State Racers men's basketball program represents Murray State University in intercollegiate men's basketball. Murray State completed a 74-season run in the Ohio Valley Conference, a part of Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), in 2021–22, and moved to the Missouri Valley Conference on July 1, 2022.
