Kaeson Youth Park
The Kaeson Youth Park ( ko, 개선청년공원) is an amusement park located in Pyongyang, North Korea. The park, located near the Kim Il Sung Stadium and in the west foot of Moran Hill was opened in 1984, the park was opened as part of the Triumphal Arch dedication. It included a carousel, fun house and amusement park rides like the Ferris wheel, comprising an area of . In April 2010 the park was renovated, after which it was visited by Kim Jong Il. It was reported that riding all 10 amusements in the park costs 1,600 won. A flying roller coaster, imported from Italy, opened in 2010. As of 2013, the rides on offer also included bumper cars, teacups, a swing ride and a double shot-like vertical drop. Bumper cars or dodgems are the generic names for a type of flat amusement ride consisting of multiple small electrically powered cars which draw power from the floor and/or ceiling, and which are turned on and off remotely by an operator. Double Shot is a type of amusement ride manufactured by S&S - Sansei Technologies. The ride is a drop tower type attraction that uses compressed air to rapidly propel riders up the tower then gently lower them with a series of air-cushioned bounces back to the loading platform. The ride is very similar to the Space Shot ride, also manufactured by S&S, but the Double Shot features an extra "shot" while riders are falling down after the first one. Swing Ride
The swing ride or chair swing ride (sometimes called a swing carousel, wave swinger, yo-yo, waver swinger, Chair-O-Planes, Dodo or swinger) is an amusement ride that is a variation on the carousel in which the seats are suspended from the rotating top of the carousel. On some versions, particularly on the Wave Swingers, the rotating top of the carousel also tilts for additional variations of motion. History Swing rides were present at the earliest amusement parks. Teacups
Teacups is an amusement ride characterized by cup-shaped spinning vehicles atop a turntable-like floor. Typically, each set of six teacups has a center bearing mounted underneath, similar to a car wheel bearing mounted on a circular floor capable of turning 360°. The circular floor of the cup sits on a larger turntable-like floor. This is driven by a motor through a starting device; the ride when started spins slowly and then speeds up as the operator applies more power. When in operation, the ride operator spins each cup while the turntable spins the entire ride base. They are driven by a motor fixed to the base in either the middle or the outside. The motor fixed in the middle has a gearbox which changes direction as well as the correct ratio for the desired speed. The motor fixed on the outside again has a gearbox but is attached to a small rubber wheel which sits along the rim under the platform. A flying roller coaster is a type of roller coaster meant to simulate the sensations of flight by harnessing riders in a prone position during the duration of the ride.
