Kadongo Kamu
Kadongo Kamu is a music genre native to Uganda and is the oldest mainstream music genre in the country. The word "kadongo kamu" is a term in the Ganda language that means "one little guitar". To understand why the genre has this name, one has to understand the stylistic structure of the music which is created with only one acoustic guitar, a dry acoustic non-electric six-string guitar. But this is not always the case and many times other instruments are involved. However the true style of the music relies only on one acoustic guitar as instrumentation, hence the "one little guitar" name. Baganda Music
Baganda music is a music culture developed by the people of Uganda with many features that distinguish African music from other world music traditions. Parts of this musical tradition have been extensively researched and well-documented, with textbooks documenting this research. Therefore, the culture is a useful illustration of general African music. Buganda

Walumbe Zaaya
Walumbe is a character in the Ganda creation myth, The Legend of Kintu. He is the son of Ggulu and the brother of Nambi. His name is translated from Lugandan as "disease" or "death" and he is responsible for death on Earth according to Gandan mythology. The Legend In The Legend of Kintu, Kintu (the first man) is eventually met by Nambi, the daughter of the heavenly deity Ggulu (also known as Mugulu). Upon learning of Kintu's existence, Ggulu orders his sons to steal Kintu's cow. Nambi is enraged by this and decides to bring Kintu to heaven. Kintu is then given many trials from Ggulu. After Kintu passes all of Ggulu's tests, Ggulu gives him his daughter among other gifts to take back to Earth. He gives them multiple vegetable plants, a hen, and some millet. Herman Basudde
Herman Basudde (1958–1997) was a Ugandan kadongo kamu musician. Basudde was born in Masaka District, in southern Uganda. Background Born on December 5, 1958 to Eria Katende and Dimitiria Namyalo, of Bubundo, Masaka. He attended Kibanda Primary School and Kitenga Primary School and is said not to have gone beyond Primary School. Little is known of his early life. According to his brother Sserunjoji, the reason he did not go further may be due to lack of funds to facilitate his love and passion for music. His mother Namyalo narrates that Herman Basudde attended Kibanda and Butenga primary school. One of his classmates says that in Basudde's school years he was a quick learner, and had a passion for art and graphics which took most of his time. Bass Guitar
The bass guitar, electric bass or simply bass (), is the lowest-pitched member of the string family. Elly Wamala
Elly Wamala (13 December 1935 – 22 August 2004) was a Ugandan musician. On 22 August 2004, he succumbed to throat cancer at Mulago Hospital. Wamala was one of Uganda's first musicians to release a recorded song and have it become a commercial hit in the 1950s when he released ''Nabutono''. The song was so successful that it caught the attention of a nation and Kabaka Edward Mutesa who regularly summoned Wamala to his court to perform the song. After Nabutono, Wamala's next release was ''Josephine'' and it also became a hit. By the time of his death, he had over 60 songs to his name, including ''Nabutono'' produced in 1959, ''Viola'' (1974), ''Welcome Pope Paul'' (1969), ''Akaana Ka Kawalya'' (1974), and ''Ebinyumu Ebyaffe'' (1998), among others. Fred Masagazi
Fred Masagazi (1937–2009) was a Ugandan " Afrojazz" musician. He was the first Ugandan artist to have his song played on the BBC, with his song "Kolazizo", in 1963. Music Masagazi started his music career in 1955 as a singer in a Congolese band, "Tinapa", where he sang both Congolese and Luganda. His first song was "Atanawa Musolo", which he released a year before Uganda's independence in 1961. He later released "Osaana Okole" in 1962 and "Lucy Tuula" in 1963. Masagazi was an accomplished composer who sang for more than fifty years. He was among the few Kadongo Kamu musicians who could sing, play the guitar and dramatise his music on stage.
