Kade Weston
Kade Weston (born November 29, 1986) is a former American football nose tackle. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the seventh round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played college football at Georgia. Early years Weston attended Red Bank Regional High School in Little Silver, New Jersey, where he played football, basketball, and was a thrower for the track team. Weston's first year of organized football was 2001 as a high school freshman. As a junior, he recorded 114 tackles, 20 tackles for a loss, 14 sacks, and five forced fumbles, helping Red Bank to a 10–2 record and berth in the Central Jersey Group III State Championship. In his senior season, Weston made 79 tackles and eight sacks, earning all-state honors for a second straight season. A defensive tackle (DT) is a position in American football that will typically line up on the line of scrimmage, opposite one of the offensive guards, however he may also line up opposite one of the tackles. Defensive tackles are typically the largest and strongest of the defensive players. Depending on a team's individual defensive scheme, a defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These roles may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved, or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it is within arm's reach. The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured.
