Kade Stewart
Kade Stewart (born 16 January 1997) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL) Early career Stewart made the recruiters notice after a starring performance for WA in the 2013 NAB Under-16 Championships. Kade was named WA’s most valuable player for the carnival. With dedication and support from his family, Kade and his family made the six-hour round trip from Katanning to training in Perth twice a week. In 2013 he made his senior debut for the Katanning Wanderers in the Upper Great Southern Football League. He continued to impress recruiters by good display of form in the 2014 and 2015 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. Stewart played two senior West Australian Football League games late in 2015 for South Fremantle where he averaged 18 possessions a game. Katanning, Western Australia
Katanning is a town located south-east of Perth, Western Australia on the Great Southern Highway. At the 2016 Australian census, 2016 census, Katanning had a population of 3,687. History The name ''Katanning'' is derived from the native name for a camping place. That native name for the camp was 'Kartannup' - 'Kart' meaning head and 'annup' meaning meeting or camping place. In the very early days before town settlement, a big tribe of natives lived in the area. When the tribe of another district would visit annually, Kartannup was the head camp or meeting place. In the 21st century, in one of the many possible examples of the attempted re-writing of history, some have tried to suggest that ''Kartanup'', means "clear pool of sweet water", or that ''Katanning'', means "spiders on your back". Graham Wright
Graham Wright (born 6 June 1968) is a former Australian rules footballer, who played for in the Australian Football League. Playing career Wright was selected by Collingwood in the 1987 National draft with their first round pick (no.3 overall) as a quick wingman, having shown great courage for Tasmanian side East Devonport. Making his debut in 1988, Wright took his time to prove his value as a first-round draftee but in 1990 he had a fantastic year which saw him rise in ranking amongst the top wingmen in the league. Wright finished 2nd in the Brownlow Medal to Tony Liberatore by one vote in 1990, and would then finish equal 3rd in the Copeland Trophy. 2017 AFL Season
The 2017 AFL season was the 121st season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior men's Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 23 March until 30 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. The premiership was won by the Richmond Football Club for the eleventh time, after it defeated by 48 points in the 2017 AFL Grand Final. Ryan Donald Burton (born 31 January 1997) is a professional Australian rules footballer playing for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Early life Ryan Burton was raised in Adelaide, and attended Sacred Heart. He participated in the Auskick program at his primary school. He later played his junior football at PHOS Camden and Sacred Heart. In 2014, he played four games for North Adelaide in the SANFL, all at the age of 17. He was still young enough to play in the 2014 NAB AFL Under-18 Championships. He kicked five goals in a game for South Australia against Western Australia. Late 2014 Burton broke his leg while playing football in an interschool match. He required surgery for the injury, resulting in orthopedic surgeon Matthew Liptak, a former Adelaide Crows player, inserting a metal plate and 10 screws into his leg.
