Kacey White
Kacey Dell White (formerly Burke; born April 27, 1984) is an American professional soccer midfielder and coach. She most recently played for the Atlanta Beat of Women's Professional Soccer and the United States women's national soccer team. Early life Born in Aurora, Colorado, White began playing soccer at the age of five. She attended Grace Preparatory Academy in Arlington, Texas where she was named to the NSCAA All-America squad in 2001 and was a Parade All-American selection. White played club soccer for the Solar '84 and Defeeters '84. She also played for the regional Olympic Development Program (ODP) team from 1997 to 2002. North Carolina Tar Heels White attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from 2002 to 2005. She finished her career having scored 22 goals and serving 58 assists for a total of 102 points during her collegiate career. Football At The 2008 Summer Olympics – Women's Tournament
The women's association football tournament at the 2008 Summer Olympics was held in Beijing and four other cities in China from 6 to 21 August. Associations affiliated with FIFA were invited to send their full women's national teams. For these Games, the women competed in a 12-team tournament. Preliminary matches commenced on 6 August, two days before the Opening Ceremony of the Games. The teams were grouped into three pools of four teams each for a round-robin preliminary round. The top two teams in each pool, as well as the best two third-place finishing teams, advanced to an eight-team single-elimination bracket. The tournament was won by the United States, which beat Brazil 1–0 in the gold medal game. 2011 Atlanta Beat Season
The 2011 Atlanta Beat season is the club's second season in Women's Professional Soccer and their second consecutive season in the top division of women's soccer in the American soccer pyramid. Including the WUSA franchise, this is the club's sixth year of existence. Review and events Prior to the beginning of the 2011 WPS season, the Atlanta Beat organization scheduled several preseason friendlies against local universities. For the preseason, the Beat played Auburn University twice, and then University of North Carolina, Georgia and Florida State. In preseason, the Beat went on an undefeated 5-0-0 run, and only conceded one goal in the process. 2011 WPS Season
The 2011 Women's Professional Soccer season is the third season for the WPS, the top level professional women's soccer league in the United States. The season started with the opening match on April 9, with the 2011 WPS Championship scheduled for the weekend of August 27–28. Washington Freedom was an American professional soccer club based in the Washington, D.C., suburb of Germantown, Maryland, that participated in Women's Professional Soccer. The Freedom was founded in 2001 as a member of the defunct Women's United Soccer Association. Beginning in 2004, the Freedom played its home games at the Maryland SoccerPlex.
