''Kabali'' is a 2016 Indian Tamil-language action film written and directed by Pa. Ranjith and produced by Kalaipuli S. Thanu. The film stars Rajinikanth in the titular role, with Radhika Apte, Sai Dhanshika, Winston Chao, Kishore, Dinesh, Kalaiyarasan and John Vijay in supporting roles. The film follows Kabali, an aged gangster who, once freed from prison, goes on to exact revenge upon his rivals while also looking for his wife Kumudhavalli and daughter Yogitha. Principal photography for the film commenced on 21 August 2015 in Chennai. While filming mostly occurred in Malaysia, some scenes were shot in Bangkok and Hong Kong, with shoot being completed in February 2016. The music for the film is composed by Santhosh Narayanan, with cinematography handled by Murali G, and editing done by Praveen K. L. The film was released worldwide on 22 July 2016, in Tamil, and dubbed versions in Telugu and Hindi, with a premiere held in Malaysia on 21 July 2016, a day before its actual rel ...
