The station broadcasts on a Class-D daytime license, with only 18 watts at night, to protect Class-A clear-channel station XERF-AM in Ciudad Acuña, Coahuila, Mexico. On March 9, 2017, the then-KVAM was granted a Federal Communications Commission construction permit to move to a new transmitter site, decrease day power to 1,000 watts and increase night power to 40 watts. Lorenzo is a city in Crosby County, Texas, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city population was 1,147, down from 1,372 in 2000. It is part of the Lubbock Metropolitan Statistical Area. Licensed to Lorenzo, Texas and serving Lubbock, Texas, United States, the station is currently under ownership of Townsquare Media. Its studios and transmitter are located in south Lubbock. Two applications were filed for the channel that is now used by KKCL. A class A on 98.3 was allocated to Ralls, Texas.
