KW Fall Classic
The KW Fall Classic is an annual bonspiel, or curling tournament, that takes place at the KW Granite Club in Waterloo, Ontario. Waterloo, Ontario
Waterloo is a city in the Canadian province of Ontario. It is one of three cities in the Regional Municipality of Waterloo (formerly Waterloo County, Ontario, Waterloo County). The 2013 KW Fall Classic was held from September 26 to 29 at the Kitchener-Waterloo Granite Club in Waterloo, Ontario in 2013–14 World Curling Tour. The men's event was held in a triple knockout format, while the women's event will be held in a round robin format. Glenn Howard
Glenn William Howard (born July 17, 1962) is a Canadian curler who is one of the most decorated curlers of all time. He has won four world championships, four Briers and 17 Ontario provincial championships, including a record eight straight, from 2006 to 2013. Through 2017, he has played in 218 games at the Brier, more than any other curler in history. He has also won the 2001 TSN Skins Game. Career Juniors Howard lost two straight Ontario Junior Championship finals in 1980 and 1981, skipping a rink out of Midland, Ontario. In both events there were no playoffs, but a tie for first place after the round robin forced a tiebreaker. In 1980 he lost to John Kawaja and in 1981, he lost to John Base. Paul Moffatt
Paul Moffatt (born May 26, 1978) is a Canadian curler. He currently skips his own team out of Waterloo, Ontario. Moffatt played for team John Morris from 2003 to 2006, where he won the 2004 Players' Championship Grand Slam, were runners up at the 2004 Canada Cup of Curling and were bronze medallists at the 2005 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. He is also the winner of the 2019 Canadian Curling Club Championships. When John Morris moved to Calgary in 2003, he formed a team with future Olympians Marc Kennedy and Kevin Koe, and with close friend Moffatt at lead. Moffatt's only major curling experience at the time was playing in the Ontario University Championship with Morris. At first the team kept secret who would be playing lead on the team, only revealing the name to be Pauldo Capones, which would later become Moffatt's nickname. is a Japanese curler from Karuizawa. He skipped the Japanese men's team at the 2018 Winter Olympics. He currently coaches the Chubu Electric Power Curling Team. Matthew Hall (curler)
Matthew Hall (born July 10, 1997 in Kitchener, Ontario) is a Canadian curler. He currently plays second on Team Rylan Kleiter. He was a member of the 2019 World Junior Curling Championships gold medallist team. Career Juniors In 2013, Hall and his rink of Phil Malvar, Mackenzie Reid and Cody McGhee won the Ontario Bantam Boys Championship. The team went on to represent Ontario at the 2015 Canada Games, where they picked up a silver medal. The following season, Hall joined the Doug Kee junior team at second. Ian Dickie (born December 21, 1985, in Bracebridge, Ontario) is a Canadian curler from Newmarket, Ontario. He currently skips his own team based in the Kitchener area. Career While attending Laurentian University in Greater Sudbury, Ontario, Dickie played in both the 2007 and 2009 Northern Ontario men's curling championships. After university, Dickie moved to Newmarket, Ontario. He played second for the Chris Ciasnocha rink for one season (2013–14) before forming his own rink as a skip in 2014. Liu Rui (; born March 13, 1982 in Harbin, Heilongjiang; sometimes known as Rui Lui) is a Chinese curler. He was the skip of the Chinese men's Olympic Curling Team at the 2014 Winter Olympics. Liu played in his first World Curling Championships in 2008, playing third for Fengchun Wang. The team lost in the bronze medal game to Norway, settling for fourth place. After a slow start in the 2009 Ford World Men's Curling Championship, Liu switched to throw 4th stones while skip Fengchun Wang continued to call the game and throw 3rd stones.
