KVMO (104.3 FM broadcasting, FM) is a radio station serving Northeast Missouri and parts of Western Illinois, including the Hannibal, Missouri/Quincy, Illinois micropolitan area as a carrier for conservative talk radio formatted ‘RealTalk 93.3’, flagship KRTK (FM), KRTK. KVMO is licensed to East Central Broadcasting of Washington, Missouri, and broadcasts from a tower 8 miles north of Vandalia, Missouri. History KVMO had the call letters KKAC from 2001-2019; and from 2001-2012 was originally a Country Music station called Action Country. In 2012, the station went back on the air briefly as a Soft Adult Contemporary format dubbed The Oasis; which gave way to an Adult Album Rock format called 104.3 FMX from 2013-2016, when the station was forced into receivership and temporarily off the air. KRTK (93.3 FM) is a commercial radio station in Hermann, Missouri, broadcasting to the western suburbs of the Saint Louis, Missouri, area. They are one local affiliate for The Dan Bongino Show and The Ben Shapiro Show, while also featuring local radio personalities. History KRTK began in Steelville, Missouri in 1985 as KNSX on 96.7 MHz, with a power of 3,000 watts. In 1996, the station completed an upgrade to a Class C2 facility, giving it a signal covering a wide area of Eastern and Central, Missouri. In 2007, KNSX changed its call letters to KQQX, and in 2011, they received authorization from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to change their city of license from Steelville to Hermann, Missouri, and move their tower closer to the St. Louis Metropolitan area, and upgrade output power to a full 50,000 watts. Vandalia, Missouri
Vandalia is a city in northeastern Audrain and extending into southeastern Ralls Counties in the U.S. state of Missouri. The population was 3,553 at the 2020 census, which includes about 1,000 prisoners incarcerated at the prison located within the city limits. The Audrain County portion of Vandalia is part of the Mexico Micropolitan Statistical Area, while the Ralls County portion is part of the Hannibal Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Vandalia was laid off by Aaron McPike and Judge Harmen Caldwell in 1870 and platted in 1871. The city was named after Vandalia, Illinois.
