KUTF
KUTF (channel 12) is a religious television station licensed to Logan, Utah, United States, serving the Salt Lake City area as an owned-and-operated station of the Daystar Television Network. The station's transmitter is located on Cal Mountain near Tremonton, Utah. History The channel 12 frequency in Logan previously belonged to KUSU-TV, a non-commercial educational station owned and operated by Utah State University which broadcast from 1964 to 1970, while the call letters KUTF originally belonged to the CW affiliate in Portland/Salem, Oregon, now KRCW-TV. KUTF was founded June 9, 2000 and launched on January 1, 2001. The station was at one point simulcast on analog low-power K45GX in Salt Lake City. There are now no longer any Federal Communications Commission (FCC) records of that repeater. KRCW-TV
KRCW-TV (channel 32) is a television station licensed to Salem, Oregon, United States, serving as the CW outlet for the Portland area. It is owned and operated by network majority owner Nexstar Media Group alongside CBS affiliate KOIN (channel 6). Both stations share studios in the basement of the KOIN Center skyscraper on Southwest Columbia Street in downtown Portland, while KRCW-TV's transmitter is located in the Sylvan-Highlands neighborhood of the city. KCBU, VHF analog channel 3, was an independent television station licensed to Price, Utah, United States. The station was owned by Equity Media Holdings. History The station had a construction permit to increase the power of the digital signal to 4 kilowatts and was to have moved its transmitter to a peak south of Springville, Utah. This would have effectively given the station signal reach into the Salt Lake City market it was a part of. When the construction permit was approved, KCBU was to broadcast on digital channel 11. The station's license was applied in 2003; the station was planned to become an affiliate of Más Música (now known as MTV Tres). Equity Media Holdings Corporation was a broadcasting company based in Little Rock, Arkansas that owned and operated television stations across the United States. Prior to March 30, 2007, the company was known as Equity Broadcasting, a name later used for its broadcast station subsidiary. The company had a focus on Hispanic and Asian American communities in large markets while owning a combination of English-language network affiliates in medium and small markets. Usually unlike dead air (broadcasting only silence), a station that is dark or silent does not even transmit a carrier signal. Analog television is the original television technology that uses analog signals to transmit video and audio. In an analog television broadcast, the brightness, colors and sound are represented by amplitude, instantaneous phase and frequency, phase and frequency of an analog signal.
