It is carried on the major cable television systems in Tucson. History An original construction permit for a low-power television station on channel 14 was granted to K. Sandoval Burke, one of the two co-owners of Hispanic Broadcasters of Tucson, on February 28, 1989. The station, K14HR "KHR-TV", signed on April 1 as Tucson's first Telemundo affiliate and first locally programmed Spanish-language station. The station was profitable within eight months, ahead of projections. Hispanic Broadcasters, owned by Burke and Jay S. Zucker, also owned the low-power Telemundo station in Phoenix, K64DR. KHRR
KHRR (channel 40) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, broadcasting the Spanish-language Telemundo network. Owned and operated by NBCUniversal's Telemundo Station Group, the station maintains studios on North Stone Avenue in downtown Tucson, and its transmitter is located atop the Tucson Mountains. Although identifying as a separate station in its own right, KHRR is considered a semi-satellite of KTAZ (channel 39) in Phoenix. As such, it simulcasts all Telemundo programming as provided through its parent, but airs separate commercial inserts and legal identifications, and has its own website. KDPH-LD (channel 48) is a low-power religious television station in Phoenix, Arizona, United States, owned and operated by the Daystar Television Network. The station's transmitter is located atop South Mountain on the city's south side. Daystar's presence in Phoenix dates to 2000, but the low-power license began in 1989 as the first Telemundo affiliate for Phoenix, originally on channel 64. Despite being a low-power station, the station, later known as KDRX-LP and KDRX-CA, produced local news programming. In 2002, Telemundo itself acquired KDRX and the co-owned Telemundo station in Tucson, KHRR. Una Vez Más Holdings, LLC was the owner of a group of low-power television stations, mostly in the Southwest, and was the largest Azteca América affiliate group in the United States. Based in Dallas, Texas, Una Vez Más (Spanish for ''One More Time'') owned 31 low-power television stations in California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas and Florida, 25 of which are operational, and eleven of which are Class A television stations. Randy Nonberg was President and COO of Una Vez Mas, Terry Crosby was Chairman and CEO, and Nora Crosby was Vice-President of Operations. KTTU (channel 18) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with MyNetworkTV. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Fox affiliate KMSB (channel 11); Tegna maintains a shared services agreement (SSA) with Gray Television, owner of CBS affiliate KOLD-TV (channel 13), for the provision of studio space and technical services while maintaining control of programming and sales. The stations share studios on North Business Park Drive on the northwest side of Tucson (near the Casas Adobes neighborhood), while KTTU's transmitter is located atop Mount Bigelow. Ultra high frequency (UHF) is the ITU designation for radio frequency, radio frequencies in the range between 300 megahertz (MHz) and 3 gigahertz (GHz), also known as the decimetre band as the wavelengths range from one meter to one tenth of a meter (one decimeter).
