KSS (company)
was a Japanese company that provided anime studio services including production, music, subtitles and translation. From 1993 to 2001, it also developed and published video games. KSS also created the adult brand Pink Pineapple. History The company was founded as with KSS being its abbreviation. The company changed its name to KSS Inc. in the early 1990s. In 2004, KSS went bankrupt and sold its assets to Softgarage. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Sae Amatsu, published from 2001 to 2005 in '' Monthly Shōnen Ace''. An OVA series was released in 2003, with three sets of episodes. is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yuichi Hasegawa. It was serialized in the Gakken magazine ''Monthly Comic Nora'' from 1985 to 1994. The series was adapted into two anime original video animations (OVAs): the 1987 original, fully titled in Japan, and the 1994 remake, simply titled ''Maps''. Plot ''Maps'' follows a normal Earth boy named Gen. He and his girlfriend Hoshimi meet Lipmira, a scantily-clad blonde woman from outer space, who tells Gen that he is the "mapman," meaning the map to a great treasure is coded in his genes. is a Japanese fantasy manga series written and illustrated by Yumi Tamura. The story takes place in a future Japan, reduced to a barren desert by a catastrophe at the end of the 21st century. The main character is Sarasa, a girl whose twin brother, Tatara, is prophesied to be the "child of destiny" ( or ) who will bring back the country's independence and stop the tyrannical rule of the Empire, namely the Red King. is a short four-episode OVA ( Original Video Animation) series produced in 1995 by Studio OX. This anime follows a cute 14-year-old girl named Mimu Emilton, who dreams of becoming a singing idol, much like her own idol, Yuri. Yuri brought world peace through her music and became the world's president. Mimu has a chance to audition in her hometown of Starland in front of Yuri, with the help of 6 "Excellent Idols" (Yuri's successors). ''Iczelion'', known in Japan as , is a 2-episode Japanese original video animation (OVA) series released in 1995. It was created by Toshihiro Hirano, director of the original Fight! Iczer One and Iczer Reborn series. AIC and KSS were the animation production companies in charge of Iczelion. The series was licensed in North America by ADV Films. Unlike its predecessor, Iczelion did not feature female-female intimacy. Although the series hinted at a possible continuation, none was ever written or created. The story seems to take place in an alternate timeline from Iczer-One and Iczer Reborn because of its placement in modern-day and with a seemingly different Nagisa.
