KSMB (94.5 MHz, "94.5 KSMB") is a CHR FM radio station in Lafayette, Louisiana owned by Cumulus Media. Its studios are located on Galbert Road in Lafayette, and its transmitter is located south of Church Point, Louisiana. KSMB began broadcasting in 1964 as Lafayette's first FM station.Broadcasting/Cablecasting Yearbook 1984 Its call letters stand for Southland Music Broadcasting, the station's original owner company. Through the 1960s it featured a strictly Cajun, Swamp Pop and Zydeco Americana format. By the 1970s, the station had established an AOR format as ''"K94 The Stereo Rock!"'' Citadel Broadcasting Corporation was a Las Vegas, Nevada-based broadcast holding company. Citadel owned 243 radio stations across the United States and was the third-largest radio station owner in the country. Only iHeartMedia and Cumulus Media owned more stations prior to Citadel's merger with Cumulus. On March 10, 2011, Cumulus Media announced that it would purchase Citadel Broadcasting. Church Point (french: Pointe-à-l'Église) is a town in Acadia Parish, Louisiana, United States. The population was 4,560 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Crowley Micropolitan Statistical Area.
