KSII (93.1 FM, "93.1 KISS-FM") is a radio station that serves the El Paso, Texas, area with hot adult contemporary music. It is under ownership of Townsquare Media. Its studios are located on North Mesa Street in northwest El Paso and its transmitter is located in the Franklin Mountains. History 93.1 MHz was the original KAMA-FM, licensed in 1976 to the owners of KAMA at 1060 kHz. In 1982, the FM station separated from KAMA and changed its calls to KAMZ, with the KSII callsign instituted in 1985. Broadcast Data Systems (also known as BDS or Luminate BDS), is a service that tracks radio, television and internet airplay of songs. The service, which is a unit of MRC Data, is a contributing factor to North American charts published by co-owned magazine '' Billboard'', including the Billboard Hot 100 and Canadian Hot 100, when combined with sales and streaming data from Soundscan. Rhythmic contemporary, also known as Rhythmic Top 40, Rhythmic CHR or rhythmic crossover, is a primarily American music-radio format that includes a mix of EDM, upbeat rhythmic pop, hip hop and upbeat R&B hits. Franklin Mountains (Texas)
The Franklin Mountains of Texas ( es, Sierras de los Mansos) are a small range long, wide that extend from El Paso, Texas north into New Mexico. The Franklins were formed due to crustal extension related to the Cenozoic Rio Grande rift. Although the present topography of the range and adjoining basins is controlled by extension during rifting in the last 10 million years, faults within the range also record deformation during the Laramide orogeny, between 85 and 45 million years ago. The highest peak is North Franklin Peak at . Much of the range is part of the Franklin Mountains State Park. The mountains are composed primarily of sedimentary rock with some igneous intrusions.
