Beulah is an unincorporated community and a post office located within the Beulah Valley census-designated place in Pueblo County, Colorado, United States. The Beulah Post Office has the ZIP code 81023. Beulah is a part of the Beulah Valley CDP (census-designated place). Beulah lies along State Highway 78 about 21 miles southwest of Pueblo, in the foothills of the Wet Mountains. History The town of Mace's Hole was settled in 1862. The town was named for Juan Maes, anglicized to "Mace," a bandit who used the valley for a hideout. The Mace's Hole Post Office opened on April 23, 1873. A local preacher took umbrage at the town's name and suggested the biblical name Beulah as a more wholesome alternative. The name of the town was changed to Beulah on October 25, 1876. KWRP (690 Hertz, kHz, "Cruisin Oldies") is a commercial radio, commercial AM radio, AM radio station in Pueblo, Colorado. It airs a rhythmic oldies radio format and is owned by Michael Hernandez, through licensee Western Radio, Ltd. The transmitter is off Oak Street in Pueblo. Because AM 690 is a Canadian & Mexico, Mexican clear-channel frequency, KWRP is limited in power, broadcasting at 250 watts by day and only 24 watts at night. KGRE-FM is a commercial radio station located in Estes Park, Colorado, broadcasting to the Fort Collins, Colorado area on 102.1 FM. KGRE-FM airs a Regional Mexican music format branded as ''El Tigre'', simulcasting KGRE 1450 AM Greeley, Colorado. An additional 65-watt booster provides fill-in service to Fort Collins, while KGRE AM has a dependent co-channel translator (K271BN) that extends the FM signal to Greeley proper.
