KQMG (AM)
KM Communications, Inc. is the owner of several television and radio stations throughout the United States. The company, based in Skokie, Illinois, gets its name from the first names of its President, Myoung Hwa Bae and her husband, Kun Chae Bae. Their son, Kevin Joel Bae, is the General Manager of the company. Founded in 1988, KM Communications has grown to nine radio stations and 10 television stations, with construction permits for seven additional radio and nine additional television stations. The stations owned by KM Communications get their programming from a variety of sources, but the most common affiliation is with Westwood One for their radio stations and Youtoo America network for their television stations. WSKC-CD, UHF digital channel 14, is a low-powered KBS World- affiliated television station licensed to Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The station is owned by KM LPTV of Atlanta, LLC. History Early Years The original callsign from 1984 was W04BR on channel 4. It was briefly assigned W59CZ in 1995 or 1996 while changing channels to 59. It became WSKC-LP after that and still identified itself as such, though its suffix was changed with the upgrade to class A in 2005, making it WSKC-CA. It carried Korean programming from South Korea. The analog station on channel 22, was located atop Sweat Mountain, and had a somewhat directional antenna, originally aimed generally southeast toward Atlanta. An infomercial is a form of television commercial that resembles regular TV programming yet is intended to promote or sell a product, service or idea. It generally includes a toll-free telephone number or website. Most often used as a form of direct response television (DRTV), they are often ''program-length commercials'' (long-form infomercials), and are typically 28:30 or 58:30 minutes in length. Lovelady is a town in Houston County, Texas, United States. The population was 570 at the 2020 census. History Lovelady was founded by investors of the Houston & Great Northern Railroad as a railway line was built through a land grant of Cyrus Lovelady, near the communities of Nevil's Prairie, Pennington, and Weldon. The U.S. Post Office opened on November 8, 1872. The town soon had livery, stables, blacksmith shop, and hotels, prospering as both a marketplace and a shipping point. KHMR (104.3 FM) is a radio station licensed to serve Lovelady, Texas. Owned by KM Communications of Skokie, Illinois, it received its license to cover on March 9, 2009, but has remained mostly under Silent STA (Special Temporary Authority) since sign on due to financial reasons, as specified in the request for STA. As of early March 2016, the station had not yet reported a resumption of operations since its most recent silent STA. On April 6, 2016, KM Radio filed for resumption of operations.
