Keratosis Pilaris
Keratosis pilaris (KP; also follicular keratosis, lichen pilaris, or colloquially chicken skin) is a common, autosomal- dominant, genetic condition of the skin's hair follicles characterized by the appearance of possibly itchy, small, gooseflesh-like bumps, with varying degrees of reddening or inflammation. It most often appears on the outer sides of the upper arms (the forearms can also be affected), thighs, face, back, and buttocks; KP can also occur on the hands, and tops of legs, sides, or any body part except glabrous (hairless) skin (like the palms or soles of feet). Often the lesions can appear on the face, which may be mistaken for acne or folliculitis. The several types of KP have been associated with pregnancy, type 1 diabetes mellitus, obesity, dry skin, allergic diseases (e.g., atopic dermatitis), and rarely cancer. Many rarer types of the disorder are part of inherited genetic syndromes. The cause of KP is not completely understood. As of 2018, KP is thought t ...

Kadomtsev–Petviashvili Equation
In mathematics and physics, the Kadomtsev–Petviashvili equation (often abbreviated as KP equation) is a partial differential equation to describe nonlinear wave motion. Named after Boris Borisovich Kadomtsev and Vladimir Iosifovich Petviashvili, the KP equation is usually written as: :\displaystyle \partial_x(\partial_t u+u \partial_x u+\epsilon^2\partial_u)+\lambda\partial_u=0 where \lambda=\pm 1. The above form shows that the KP equation is a generalization to two spatial dimensions, ''x'' and ''y'', of the one-dimensional Korteweg–de Vries (KdV) equation. To be physically meaningful, the wave propagation direction has to be not-too-far from the ''x'' direction, i.e. with only slow variations of solutions in the ''y'' direction. Like the KdV equation, the KP equation is completely integrable. It can also be solved using the inverse scattering transform much like the nonlinear Schrödinger equation. In 2002, the regularized version of the KP equation, naturally referre ...

It has a 1/6000s conventional and 1/24,000s electronic shutter (available in Live View). In terms of bracketing modes, it adds depth of field and shutter speed bracketing. The Pentax KP uses the Pentax K-mount interchangeable lens system. Compared to Pentax K-70 The Pentax KP is similar in many aspects to the about half year older K-70 but significantly more expensive. The differences are: * The KP has a more vintage, old film SLR looking body and they also have a different button layout. * The material of the bodies is also different, the KP has a magnesium alloy construction built on a stainless steel chassis whereas the K-70 is made out of plastic. * The KP can shoot a 7 fps continuous burst, the K-70 is one fps slower. * The maximum ISO se ...

KP Duty
KP duty means "kitchen police" or "kitchen patrol" work under the kitchen staff assigned to junior U.S. enlisted military personnel. "KP" can be either the work or the personnel assigned to perform such work. In the latter sense it can be used for either military or civilian personnel assigned or hired for duties in the military dining facility excluding cooking. Duties include washing dishes, food prep, and busboy. The image of enlisted soldiers peeling potatoes (to remove the skin) in an installation's kitchen was once associated with the popular culture image of KP duty due to its frequent appearance in mid-twentieth century movies and comic strips about life in the US services. Etymology The U.S. military sometimes uses the word "police" as a verb to mean "to clean" or "to restore to order." For example, after a company picnic on a U.S. Marine Corps base, a group of Marines might be assigned to police, or clean up, the picnic grounds. Its origins in this usage probably ...
