KNAV-LD, virtual and UHF digital channel 22, is a low-powered LATV- affiliated television station licensed to Dallas, Texas, United States and serving the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. History KNAV-LD was originally started in Corsicana, Texas on August 23, 1983 as a station run by Navarro College. It was originally assigned the callsign K29AD. On November 16, 1989, the station moved to channel 30 and the new callsign of K30DG. On February 1, 1995, the callsign was changed to KNAV-LP, with "NAV" reflecting NAVarro College's ownership. KNAV-LP was sold in 2004 to Tuck Properties. Tuck moved the transmitter so the station could serve the Dallas-Fort Worth television market. The station moved from channel 29 to 30 around the time that KMPX was granted a construction permit for a full-power station on channel 29. The station is owned by HC2 Holdings. It is not available on Charter Spectrum or FiOS from Frontier at this time. History The station began as an independent station with the callsign K69BS on channel 69, then in 2003, it has moved its broadcasts to channel 28 and was rebranded as K28HU. In less than a month, the call letters were once again changed to KHPK named after the three principal owners (Investors) Ric Halden, Marc Pace, and Ron Knott) and it became an Urban America Television network affiliate, because these three owners were shareholders in Urban (UATV). Flash Cut
A flash cut, also called a flash cutover, is an immediate change in a complex system, with no phase-in period. In the United States, some telephone area codes were split or overlaid immediately, rather than being phased in with a permissive dialing period. An example is telephone area code 213, which serves downtown Los Angeles and its immediate environs, split in January 1951 into 213 and 714 all at once. Another example is an immediate switch from an analog television channel to a digital television channel on the same frequency, where the two cannot operate in parallel without interference. A flash cut can also define a procedure in which multiple components of computer infrastructure are upgraded in multiple ways, all at once, with no phase-in period. KTXA (channel 21) is an independent television station in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, serving the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. It is owned by the CBS News and Stations group alongside Fort Worth–based CBS station KTVT (channel 11). Both stations share primary studio facilities on Bridge Street (off I-30), east of downtown Fort Worth, and advertising sales offices at CBS Tower on North Central Expressway in Dallas.
