KMJM (AM)
KMJM (1360 AM) is a radio station licensed to serve Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The station is owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. and licensed to iHM Licenses, LLC. It airs an oldies music format including Cedar Rapids Roughriders hockey, Coe College football, and serves as an overflow station for University of Iowa men's and women's basketball when games conflict with another Hawkeye event airing on sister station WMT. History The Cedar Rapids allocation for 1360 AM signed on in 1961, alongside its FM sister station at 98.1 FM, both taking on the call letters KHAK. Both stations formatted country music—although not exclusively until sometime later in the 1960s—and for many years, the AM signal was duplicated on the FM frequency. At some point in the mid-1990s, KHAK-AM changed its format to contemporary Christian as KTOF-AM, and was a simulcast of KWOF in Hiawatha. Hiawatha, Iowa
Hiawatha is a city in Linn County, Iowa, United States. It is a suburb located in the northwestern side of Cedar Rapids and is part of the Cedar Rapids Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 7,183 at the time of the 2020 census, an increase from 6,480 in 2000. History In 1946, Fay Clark, an entrepreneur of several ventures located in Linn County north of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, had a vision of houses and a highway running through a new city. In 1950 Clark and another 45 residents signed a petition seeking to become the 17th incorporated town in Linn County. The town would be named after Clark's trailer company. That same year he and Henry Katz of Marion established the Linn County Fire Association to help provide fire protection to rural communities. Clark served as mayor of Hiawatha from 1950 to 1958, and again from 1961 to 1963. Clark died in 1991 at the age of 84. KXGM (AM)
KXGM (850 AM) was a radio station that served the Waterloo, Iowa, area. The not-for-profit station broadcast a simulcast of KXGM-FM's Christian Contemporary music format during daytime hours only. KXGM was owned by Extreme Grace Media. The station's antenna system used three towers arranged in a directional array that concentrated the signal toward the northwest. According to the Antenna Structure Registration database, each of the towers was tall. The transmitter site was located in east Waterloo on Osage Road.
