KLVS
KLVS (107.3 FM broadcasting, FM) is a radio station broadcasting a Christian Contemporary format from K-Love, licensed to Livermore, California, United States. The station is owned by San Joaquin Broadcasting Company, a subsidiary of the Educational Media Foundation. History 107.3 FM signed on the air in 1962 as KSTN-FM, carrying a full-time classical music format. The following year, it added some Regional Mexican Music and by 1965, they dropped classical music entirely and expanded the Spanish language, Spanish programming with some simulcast of the Top 40 music of its AM sister station at 1420. KSTN-FM transmitted Monophonic sound, monaural audio from its inception in 1962 until 1996 when it switched to stereo. On February 22, 2010, KSTN-FM dropped its Regional Mexican format in favor of an English-language Contemporary Christian music format, via satellite from K-LOVE. KJLV (FM)
KJLV (97.7 MHz) is a non-commercial FM radio station licensed to Los Altos, California, owned by the Educational Media Foundation. Its transmitter is located near Cupertino, California. It is the San Jose affiliate for the Air1 religious network. No local programming originates from the station, and it carries network programming full-time. KJLV's transmitter is located near Stevens Creek Reservoir. KJLV broadcasts in HD Radio. History 97.7 FM signed on the air on October 1, 1960 as KPGM. The station picked up the KPEN callsign in 1970 after they were dropped by KIOI in 1968. The callsign was changed to KLZE (Classy FM) in October 1984. In January 1988, 97.7 became KHQT ("Hot 97.7"), with a Rhythmic Top 40 format. They became very popular in the South Bay, competing with mainstream Top 40 station KWSS during its first few years. First, it played a classic rock format, later it evolved in 2012 into an adult hits format playing music from the 1980s-now. Livermore (formerly Livermorès, Livermore Ranch, and Nottingham) is a city in Alameda County, California. With a 2020 population of 87,955, Livermore is the most populous city in the Tri-Valley. Monophonic Sound
Monaural or monophonic sound reproduction (often shortened to mono) is sound intended to be heard as if it were emanating from one position. This contrasts with stereophonic sound or ''stereo'', which uses two separate audio channels to reproduce sound from two microphones on the right and left side, which is reproduced with two separate loudspeakers to give a sense of the direction of sound sources.
