KLRG (880 AM) is an American radio station broadcasting a classic rock format. It is licensed to Sheridan, Arkansas, and serves the Little Rock Metro area from its transmitter located 5 Miles from the Arkansas State Capitol. The station is owned by Charles and Devon Brentlinger, through licensee Broadcast Industry Group, LLC. KLRG was formerly a gospel station owned by Joe Kinlow and Family until his death in 2015. Prior Formats include the '' Tan Talk Radio Network'', and a Country Station KKDI owned by Cliff Packer from Benton, Arkansas. The station was first licensed in 1982, and held the callsign KKDI. The station originally broadcast at 1540 kHz with a power of 250 watts, and operated during daytime hours only. KLRG has separate transmitter sites for day/critical hours and night. Sheridan, Arkansas
Sheridan is a city and county seat of Grant County, Arkansas, United States. The community is located deep in the forests of the Arkansas Timberlands. It sits at the intersection of US Highways 167 and 270. Early settlers were drawn to the area by the native timber, which is still a very important part of Sheridan's economy, although the city has diversified into several other industries. Sheridan's history also includes a college, Missionary Baptist College, until its closure in 1934, and a series of conflicts during the Civil Rights Movement. Located at the southern end of the Central Arkansas region, Sheridan has been experiencing a population boom in recent years, as indicated by a 49% growth in population between the 1990 and 2010 censuses. Greenbrier, Arkansas
Greenbrier is a city in Faulkner County, Arkansas, United States. It is part of the Little Rock–North Little Rock– Conway Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 5,707 at the 2020 census, up from 4,706 at the 2010 census. History Prior to European settlement, Native American tribes, including the Quapaw and later the Cherokee, lived in the area. Several historical figures of the Wild West such as Jim Bowie and Jesse James passed through the Greenbrier region toward Oklahoma and Texas. The Wiley brothers settled near East Fork Cadron around 1818, about east of today's Greenbrier. In 1837, Jonathan Hardin settled near the Wiley settlement. Critical Hours
Critical hours for radio stations is the time from sunrise to two hours after sunrise, and from two hours before sunset until sunset, local time. During this time, certain American radio stations may be operating with reduced power as a result of Section 73.187 of the Federal Communications Commission's rules. Canadian restricted hours are similar to critical hours, except that the restriction results from the January 17, 1984, U.S.-Canadian AM Agreement. Canadian restricted hours are called "critical hours" in the U.S.-Canadian Agreement, but in the AM Engineering database, the FCC calls them "Canadian restricted hours" to distinguish them from the domestically defined critical hours.
