KLM Open
The Dutch Open is an annual golf tournament played in the Netherlands, and has been part of the European Tour's schedule since the Tour was inaugurated in 1972. History and sponsorship Founded in 1912, the tournament began as the Dutch Open, before a variety of sponsors resulted in numerous name changes over the years. KLM was the longest title sponsor; lasting from 1981 to 1990, and from 2004 to 2020. The tournament has been moved around the golfing calendar, but since 2010 it has been held in early September. Cromvoirt
Cromvoirt is a village in the Dutch province of North Brabant. It is located in the municipality of Vught. History The village was first mentioned in 1312 as Crumvoert, and means "crooked fordable place". The Catholic St Lambertus Church was built in 1888. In 1891, the tower was constructed next to the church. The tower was blown up by the Germans in 1944, and only partially restored. Cromvoirt was home to 393 people in 1840. Breda
Breda () is a city and municipality in the southern part of the Netherlands, located in the province of North Brabant. Wu Ashun (born 22 June 1985) is a Chinese professional golfer. He has won four times on the European Tour and twice on the Japan Golf Tour. Professional career Wu played on the Asian Tour in 2008 and 2009. His best finish was T-4 at the 2009 Singha Thailand Open. Wu played on the Japan Golf Tour in 2010 and from 2012 to 2015. The 2018 European Tour is the 47th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 10th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Italian Francesco Molinari, who was also named Golfer of the Year. India's Shubhankar Sharma was named Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. Changes for 2018 There were changes to membership criteria with the reversal of some of the changes introduced for the 2017 season; the number of players gaining exemption from the final Race to Dubai standings reverted to the top 110 and the Access List was scrapped, largely replaced by a re-ranking system. Nicolai Højgaard
Nicolai Højgaard (born 12 March 2001) is a Danish professional golfer. He had a successful amateur career, winning the 2018 European Amateur and being part of the Danish team that won the Eisenhower Trophy later in the year. Amateur career Højgaard was part of the Danish team that won the 2017 European Boys Team Championship, beating the hosts Spain in the final. Højgaard had a successful 2018. In April he won a professional tournament, the Bravo Tours Open on the Nordic Golf League. In June he was second in the individual competition for the boys Toyota Junior World Cup, four strokes behind his brother Rasmus. Denmark also won the team competition. Sergio García
Sergio García Fernández (; born 9 January 1980) is a Spanish professional golfer. He has played on the European Tour, PGA Tour and LIV Golf Invitational Series. García has won 36 international tournaments as a professional, most notably the 2008 Players Championship and the 2017 Masters Tournament. The 2019 European Tour was the 48th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 11th edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Spain's Jon Rahm, who was also named Golfer of the Year. Scotland's Robert MacIntyre was the Sir Henry Cotton Rookie of the Year. The 2020 European Tour was the 49th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 12th edition of the Race to Dubai. The COVID-19 pandemic had a major impact on the season, with many tournaments being rescheduled or cancelled. All four major championships were affected; The Open Championship was cancelled, and the Masters Tournament, U.S. Open and PGA Championship were moved to dates much later in the year. After a three-month hiatus following the Qatar Masters in early March, the tour resumed with a much changed schedule in July. Matti Schmid
Matthias Schmid (born 18 November 1997) is a German professional golfer. He won the European Amateur in both 2019 and 2020 and was the leading amateur at the 2021 Open Championship. Amateur career Schmid competed for the Louisville Cardinals from 2017 to 2021, winning the Old Town Club Collegiate in 2018. Schmid won the European Amateur in both 2019 and 2020. The 2021 European Tour was the 50th season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 13th and final edition of the Race to Dubai. The Race to Dubai was won by Collin Morikawa, becoming the first American player to do so. Matti Schmid was named Rookie of the Year. Ryan Fox (born 22 January 1987) is a New Zealand professional golfer who plays on the European Tour and PGA Tour of Australasia. Professional career Fox turned professional in 2012 and played on the 2012 PGA Tour of Australasia. He had two 4th-place finishes, in the New Zealand PGA Pro-Am Championship and the New South Wales PGA Championship. He was runner-up in the 2014 Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship and later in the year won the Western Australian Open. The 2022 European Tour, titled as the 2022 DP World Tour for sponsorship reasons, is the 51st season of golf tournaments since the European Tour officially began in 1972 and the 1st edition of the DP World Tour Rankings. It is the first season of the tour under a title sponsorship agreement with DP World, that was announced in November 2021. Schedule The following table lists official events during the 2022 season. Many tournaments had been confirmed independently ahead of the official announcement in November 2021, when the majority of the tournaments were confirmed along with the DP World title sponsorship agreement.
