Košarkaški klub Čačak '94 ( sr-Cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Чачак '94), commonly referred to as KK Čačak 94 or Čačak 94 Quantox due to sponsorship reasons, is a men's professional basketball club based in Čačak, Serbia. The club currently participates in the Basketball League of Serbia. History The initiative for founding of the Čačak94 basketball club was started by a group of basketball enthusiasts in 1994. Dragomir Grujović was chosen for the president. In the words of the founders themselves, there was the need for a third basketball club in Čačak because of a big number of boys who were training basketball and couldn't find their place in senior teams of the two existing clubs in Čačak. The first coach of the team was Dobrilo Jojić and the assistant coach was Slobodan Jovanović. The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Two lowest-placed teams, positioned 15th and 16th in the First League, are relegated to a lower-tier league – Second Basketball League of Serbia. Zoran Stefanović (, sr-cyr, Зоран Стефановић, born 21 November 1969 in Loznica) is a Serbian author, publisher and cultural activist, best known as the founder of several cultural networks, including Project Rastko. The Serbian basketball league system, or Serbian basketball league pyramid is a series of interconnected competitions for professional basketball clubs in Serbia.
