KK Sveti Đorđe
Košarkaški klub Sveti Đorđe ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Свети Ђорђе), commonly referred to as KK Sveti Đorđe, is a men's professional basketball club based in Žitište, Serbia. They are currently competing in the First Regional League of Serbia ( 3rd-tier). The club was founded in 1979 and renamed in 2001 after Saint George. The club has its own Hall of Fame, where the members are Drago Radinović, Zoran Veselinov and Nikola Pešut. History In the 2018–19 Cup of Serbia, Sveti Đorđe as a 3rd-tier league member won over Zdravlje ( 2nd-tier league member) in the quarterfinals and over Vojvodina ( 1st-tier league member) in the semifinals. Those wins took them to the 2019 Cup of Serbia Final and qualifies to the 2019 Radivoj Korać Cup. Sveti Đorđe lost from Novi Pazar in the Cup of Serbia Final. First Regional Basketball League (Serbia)
First Men's Regional League ( sr-cyrl, Прва мушка регионална лига, Prva muška regionalna liga), previously First Serbian League, is the men's regional basketball league in Serbia. It is the 3rd-tier of the basketball league system in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia and regional basketball associations, consists of four divisions, North, Central, East and West, which have 14 teams each. The Radivoj Korać Cup ( sr, Куп Радивоја Кораћа / Kup Radivoja Koraća) is the men's national basketball cup of Serbia. It is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia and is named after a Serbian basketball legend and FIBA Hall of Fame and Basketball Hall of Fame member Radivoj Korać. Nebojša Vidić ( sr-cyr, Небојша Видић; born 29 January 1973) is a Serbian professional basketball coach and former player. Playing career As a guard, Vidić played for his hometown clubs Tamiš and Rolling-Hunter. Coaching career Vidić started his coaching career at 22, while he was still an active player. He was a head coach for Tamiš and Sveti Đorđe during the 2000s. In the 2011–12 season, Vidić was the head coach for Þór Akureyri of the Icelandic Premier League. In the 2013–14 season, Vidić was the head coach for Lokomotiv-Kuban 2 of the VTB United Youth League. In February 2016, Bulgarian club Balkan Botevgrad hired Vidić as their new head coach. Dušan Radojčić (basketball)
Dušan Radojčić ( sr-cyr, Душан Радојчић; 1931 – 5 May 1999), was a Serbian basketball player and coach. He represented the Yugoslavia national basketball team internationally. Playing career Radojčić spent most of his playing career with Proleter Zrenjanin of the Yugoslav Basketball League. He played the 1952 season for a Belgrade-based team Partizan. During his second stint with Proleter he won the National Championships in the 1956 season. Radojčić was a part of the group of players known as the Proleter's Five, which included himself, Milutin Minja, Ljubomir Katić, Lajos Engler, and Vilmos Lóczi. National team career Radojčić was a member of the Yugoslavia national team that participated at the 1950 FIBA World Championship in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
