Košarkaški klub Joker ( sr-cyrl, Кошаркашки клуб Џокер), commonly referred to as KK Joker, is a men's basketball club based in Sombor, Vojvodina, Serbia. They are currently competing in the top-level Basketball League of Serbia, having been promoted at the end of the 2022–23 season. The club takes its name from Serbian two-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić, nicknamed "Joker". History Founded in 2002 as KK SO Koš in Sombor, the club changed its name to KK Joker after the nickname of Serbian NBA All Star player Nikola Jokić who started his playing career with the club. In 2018, the club held the inaugural Joker Basketball Camp in Sombor. In the 2019–20 Cup of Serbia quarterfinals, the club loss to Sloboda Užice. The Basketball League of Serbia ( sr, Кошаркашка лига Србије, Košarkaška liga Srbije; abbr. КЛС or KLS), is a top-tier men's professional basketball league in Serbia. Founded in 2006, it is run by the Basketball Federation of Serbia (KSS). Rules Competition format The league, operated by the Basketball Federation of Serbia, consists of two stages: the First League which has 16 teams and the SuperLeague which has 8 teams. Since the 2017–18 season, the top 8 teams in First League are promoted to Super League with five Serbian teams from the ABA League. Košarkaški klub Sloboda ( sr-cyr, Кошаркашки клуб Слобода), commonly referred to as KK Sloboda Užice, is a men's professional basketball club based in Užice, Serbia. The club currently participates in the Basketball League of Serbia. The team play domestic home matches in the Veliki Park Sports Hall. History The story began in November 1949 when a group of high school students become interested in basketball. Soon they played two friendly matches, and in January 1950 the first basketball tournament was held in Titovo Užice. Same year two basketball sections were formed, one at the City Gymnastic Society, and the other at the Sports Association "Prvi partizan". Zoran Krstanovic (born July 18, 1982) is a Serbian professional basketball player for Joker Sombor. Standing at 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m), he usually plays as power forward or center.
