KINT-FM
KINT-FM (93.9 FM) is a radio station in El Paso, Texas, also serving Las Cruces, New Mexico and widely heard over the U.S.-Mexican border in Ciudad Juarez and surrounding communities. The station is currently owned by Entravision Communications. The station airs a radio format called "La Suavecita" It features Regional Mexican adult hits. KINT-FM's studio facilities are located on North Mesa Street (Texas State Highway 20) in northwest El Paso, and its transmitter is located atop the Franklin Mountains in the El Paso city limits. AM 1650 KSVE has at times simulcast KINT-FM. History In 1975, a license was given for a new station on 93.9 FM in El Paso, KPAS. "94FM" was El Paso's original rock station but changed away from the format in 1981, chasing listeners toward KLAQ at 95.5. Prior to Spanish-language programing, this station also aired Hot AC and CHR formats. For the first time, in 1992, KPAS became KINT-FM. KINT-TV
KINT-TV (channel 26) is a television station in El Paso, Texas, United States, affiliated with the Spanish-language Univision network. It is owned by Entravision Communications alongside UniMás affiliate KTFN (channel 65). Both stations share studios on North Mesa Street/Highway 20 in northwest El Paso, while KINT-TV's transmitter is located atop the Franklin Mountains on the El Paso city limits. History The station first signed on the air on May 5, 1984; it was founded by a consortium of local businessmen including Larry Daniels (former manager of KROD-TV (channel 4, now KDBC-TV), and owner of KINT radio (1590 AM, now KELP and 97.5 FM, now at 93.9) as well as other businesses) and Jose Angel Silva Sr., owner of a grocery store in downtown El Paso. KOFX (92.3 MHz "92.3 the Fox") is a commercial FM radio station in El Paso, Texas. It follows a classic hits radio format that leans toward classic rock, and plays artists such as Van Halen, The Rolling Stones, and Pat Benatar, but not Madonna. It is owned by Entravision Communications, with the license held by Entravision Holdings, LLC. It shares studio facilities with four other Entravision radio stations and two television stations, KINT-TV and KTFN, all of which are on North Mesa Street (Texas State Highway 20) in Northwest El Paso. KHRO
KHRO (1150 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in El Paso, Texas. This station is owned by Entravision Communications. Its studio facilities are located on North Mesa Street/Highway 20 in northwest El Paso. The transmitter is located east of downtown in Ascarate Park, near Texas State Highway Loop 375. KHRO simulcasts the radio format heard on sister station KOFX 92.3 FM. History The station first signed on in June 1958 as KIZZ. It was owned by Coronado Broadcasters and was a CBS Radio Network affiliate. The station originally was a daytimer, powered at 1,000 watts, and required to sign off at sunset to avoid interfering with other stations on AM 1150. In the 1980s, it was given Federal Communications Commission (FCC) permission to broadcast around the clock, using 380 watts during nighttime hours.
