KNKX (88.5 MHz) is a public broadcasting, public radio station licensed to Tacoma, Washington, United States. A member of National Public Radio (NPR), it airs a jazz and all-news radio, news format for the Seattle metropolitan area. Nielsen Audio (formerly Arbitron) is a consumer research company in the United States that collects listener data on radio broadcasting audiences. It was founded as the American Research Bureau by Jim Seiler in 1949 and became national by merging with Los Angeles-based Coffin, Cooper, and Clay in the early 1950s. The company's initial business was the collection of broadcast television ratings. KING-TV (channel 5) is a television station in Seattle, Washington, United States, affiliated with NBC. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside Everett-licensed independent station KONG (channel 16).
