KGSW-TV was a television station on channel 14 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. It broadcast from 1981 to 1993 and was last owned by The Providence Journal Company (ProJo). An independent station and later Fox affiliate for its entire history, it was merged with Santa Fe's KKTO (channel 2) in 1993 to create KASA-TV, which remained the Fox affiliate for the Albuquerque television market until 2017. KASA-TV
KASA-TV (channel 2), branded on-air as , is a television station licensed to Santa Fe, New Mexico, United States, serving the Albuquerque area and most of the state as an owned-and-operated station of the Spanish-language Telemundo network. KASA-TV's studios are located on Monroe Street NE in Albuquerque; its transmitter is located on Sandia Crest, with translators in much of the state and southwestern Colorado extending its signal. Channel 2 in Santa Fe was established in 1983 and struggled for its first decade on air as an independent station. It went silent in 1992 during a merger with KGSW-TV, which resulted in 1993 in its relaunch as Fox affiliate KASA-TV. KMSB (channel 11) is a television station in Tucson, Arizona, United States, affiliated with the Fox network. It is owned by Tegna Inc. alongside MyNetworkTV affiliate KTTU (channel 18); Tegna maintains a shared services agreement (SSA) with Gray Television, owner of CBS affiliate KOLD-TV (channel 13), for the provision of studio space and technical services and the production of local newscasts for KMSB. The stations share studios on North Business Park Drive on the northwest side of Tucson (near the Casas Adobes neighborhood). SelecTV was an American subscription television service that was formed in 1976 and first began broadcasting in 1978; the service focused entirely on televising movies, and was shut down in 1989. New Mexico Lobos
The New Mexico Lobos are the athletic teams that represent the University of New Mexico, located in Albuquerque. The university participates in the NCAA Division I in the Mountain West Conference (MW) since 1999, after leaving the Western Athletic Conference. The university's athletic program fields teams in 16 varsity sports. UNM teams have won three national championships. The women's cross-country won the NCAA championship in 2015 and 2017 and the Division I Skiing championship in 2004. History The Lobos name began in 1920. Sandia Crest, also known locally as Sandia Peak or simply as the Crest, is a mountain ridge that, at , is the highpoint of the Sandia–Manzano Mountains, and is located in the Sandia Mountains of Bernalillo County, New Mexico, United States. Instead of a true summit or topographic peak, this range climbs to a long ridge line. To the east, the range slopes down from the Crest and merges into the plains below. On the west side of the Crest is a cliff; the range dramatically drops over in elevation over of horizontal distance to the Rio Grande Valley and city of Albuquerque below.
