KFXK-TV (channel 51) is a television station licensed to Longview, Texas, United States, serving East Texas as an affiliate of the Fox network. It is owned by White Knight Broadcasting, which maintains a shared services agreement (SSA) with Nexstar Media Group owner of Jacksonville-licensed NBC affiliate KETK-TV (channel 56) and Tyler-licensed low-power MyNetworkTV affiliate KTPN-LD (channel 48), for the provision of certain services. The stations share studios on Richmond Road (near Texas Loop 323) in Tyler, while KFXK-TV's transmitter is located near FM 125 in rural northwestern Rusk County (northwest of New London). Lufkin is the largest city in Angelina County, Texas and the county seat. The city is situated in Deep East Texas and about 60 miles west of the Texas-Louisiana border. Its estimated population is 35,021 as of July 1, 2019. Lufkin was founded in 1884 and named for Abraham P. Lufkin. It originally served as a stop on the Houston, East and West Texas Railway. Loop 323 is a state highway loop in Texas in the United States. It is a highway circling the city of Tyler in Smith County. History On November 20, 1951, Farm to Market Road 1803 (FM 1803) was established as a bypass from US 271 northeast of Tyler, to SH 64 east of Tyler. On October 29, 1953, FM 845, was created as another bypass around the north side of Tyler, covering from SH 31 to US 271 and the northern end of FM 1803. On October 26, 1954, the route of FM 845 was extended (but apparently not constructed) about south and east around Tyler and then northward to intersect with the southern terminus of FM 1803.
