KELM-LP
KELM-LP, UHF analog channel 43, was a low-powered Mexicanal- affiliated television station licensed to Reno, Nevada, United States. KELM-LP, the Mexicanal affiliate and its sister station, KRRI-LP, the Azteca America affiliate, both broadcast in Spanish, are housed in a glass-walled facility at the Meadowood Mall in south Reno. History On or around October 2008, the bankruptcy court sold KELM-LP to Ngensolutions LLC. Ngensolutions entered into negotiations with Mexicanal for an affiliation agreement for the Reno DMA. KELM-LP commenced broadcasting as a Mexicanal affiliate during September 2010 and started local production and insertion during October 2010 from its facilities at Meadowood Mall. Mexicanal is a Mexican-based Spanish-language pay television network launched the August 23, 2005 by Castalia Communications and Cablecom. The network's studios and broadcast center is based in the Mexican city of San Luis Potosí. Programming Mexicanal features news, cultural programming, sports and popular entertainment from public broadcasters, independent producers and public access stations throughout Mexico. Analog television is the original television technology that uses analog signals to transmit video and audio. In an analog television broadcast, the brightness, colors and sound are represented by amplitude, instantaneous phase and frequency, phase and frequency of an analog signal. Meadowood Mall is a one-level, super-regional mall in Reno, Nevada, managed by Simon Property Group, which owns 50% of it. Meadowood Mall contains 125 retailers and restaurants and it is anchored by Macy's Women, Macy's Men/Home, JCPenney, and Dick's Sporting Goods. History Meadowood Mall opened in March 1979 anchored by JCPenney, Liberty House, and Macy's. Liberty House closed in 1983 and Macy's South moved in the following year.
