In 2006 and again in 2011, KEKO applied to go silent due to financial difficulties resulting from the reduced power. Once the station got up and running, it lost its transmitter site, prompting a move to a new location. Hebbronville ( ) is a census-designated place (CDP) in and the county seat of Jim Hogg County, Texas, United States. The population was 4,558 at the 2010 census. In 1918, Helen Sewel Harbison became the first woman in Texas to cast a ballot, two years before the implementation of the Nineteenth Amendment to the United States Constitution. The Colegio Altamirano, founded by settlers of Spanish ancestry who wanted their children to learn Spanish culture, was an institution in Hebbronville from 1897 until its closing in 1958. Geography Hebbronville is located in northern Jim Hogg County at (27.311259, -98.680998). It is bordered to the east by Las Lomitas and to the north by Duval County. Ranchitos Las Lomas is a census-designated place (CDP) in Webb County, Texas, United States. The population was 167 at the 2020 census. Las Lomas means "the hills" in Spanish. History The town prides itself as "the place where nothing ever happened." Geography Ranchitos Las Lomas is located at (27.628277, -99.234505). According to the United States Census Bureau in 2000, the CDP has a total area of 21.9 square miles (56.8 km2), of which, 21.8 square miles (56.6 km2) is land and 0.1 square miles (0.2 km2; 0.37%) is water.
