KDS Group
KDS Group is a business and industrial conglomerates of Bangladesh, which is based in Chittagong but with extensive operations in Dhaka as well. It has also established offices and agencies in India, Hong Kong and is currently expanding into Europe and North America. It is one of the largest private sector employers in Bangladesh. History The group was founded in 1983, through the establishment of one of the first garments industries of Bangladesh. The founder of the group was Khalilur Rahman. KDS Textiles was established in 2000. The same year, KDS Steel established KYCR Coil Industries Limited. In 2001, the Cold Rolling Mills Complex was established by KDS group. Rapid Action Battalion
Rapid Action Battalion or RAB, is an anti-crime and anti-terrorism unit of the Bangladesh Police. This elite force consists of members of the Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Police, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Border Guard Bangladesh, Bangladesh Civil Service and Bangladesh Ansar. It was formed on 26 March 2004 as RAT (Rapid Action Team), and commenced operations on 14 April 2004. From 2004 to 2008 RAB had killed 1,062 people. Halda River
Halda River is a river in south-eastern Bangladesh. It originates at the Badnatali Hill Ranges in Ramgarh Upazila in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, flows through Fatikchhari Upazila, Bhujpur Thana, Hathazari Upazila, Raozan Upazila and Chandgaon Thana of the Chittagong Metropolitan City, and falls into the Karnaphuli River. The river has a very turbulent tributary, the Dhurung River, which joins Purba Dhalai about downstream. The river is navigable by big boats from its mouth up to Nazir Hat, and by small boats further up to Narayanhat. The Halda averages in depth and is at its deepest point. The Halda river is also famous for breeding pure Indian carp. This is the only pure Indian carp breeding field of Bangladesh, perhaps in South Asia. Bangabandhu Hi-Tech City (BHTC) is a business park in Kaliakair, Gazipur District, Bangladesh.
